Gotta say I'm not big on all the different sized cards. How do you pack around a deck of cards that are in several different sizes? Not to mention accessories like sleeves and card carrying boxes.

 

If this was a boxed product like a living card game then it would seem like it makes more sense..especially since it recycles your deck like a deck builder. As is it seems a little odd as a collectible game.

 

I'm not an expert on this, but a lot of what you're describing (and the TF game in general) sounds like the old Highlander card game which, when I was a kid, is kinda how I wanted a TF card game to work. So I'm just as stoked for this now as I was before!

 

Just look at this thread from over a year ago:

They have worked on the coating process in the last few sets. They have acknowledged their were issues and have acknowledged they are working on their production methods to correct it, but they are still making huge mistakes. One of the recent sets didn't even have the internal "blue" layer inside the card stock.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'm still not too crazy on the choice of card art for this. The character art is fine, but I'd like to see a bit more variety other than "Character does an action pose while explosions happen in the background". It's why I like Shockwave, Chop Shop, and Bombshell's artwork the most (Though it is weird that Shockwave's art removed Grimlock from it's original incarnation). I get that it's an action card game, but I think a bit of character is lost, at least compared to some magic cards. The battle cards aren't much better, considering that a lot of the art is clearly not made for the focus (Handheld Blaster isn't even at the center of the card). I do hope this does well enough for some original artists to get on board, because otherwise we'll never get the Transformers' equivalent of Savage Punch

Great news. Sadly it will be only available in UK and Ireland, and may also be available in the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland.

 

Are these out in the states? If so where can I find them? I browsed through the thread but it just looks like pages and pages of arguing...  

 

I haven't seen them out anywhere, but GameStop has them up for preorder for later this month.

I still own the Transformers ROTF/DOTM card game from 10 years ago where you can build cardboard transformers (..'figures?') with parts of the cards. I have the entire set. I bought it much later for $17.00 i still think it was a good deal. Ill probably wait for a deal to come around b4 i invest in this. Not a bad idea though i was wondering if they ever do a REAL TF card game like MTG.
