It's insane to realize what kind of bulk discounts Amazon is getting. $11 USD to ship Megatron here, but when my Dinobot broke and I had to ship it back, it was $56 USD (they paid though).

 

My UW Devy AND UW Superion are being both shipped for $16.

And get this, Amazon JP updated the order in a way that they WILL NOT ship together, just because the release date might not be the same. And I'm still being charged $16, for TWO separate JAPAN SHIPMENTS that will get here in 2 or 3 days.

Two box-sets, one being a huge MF-er at that, $16 shipped to the US.

I’ve always loved Megatron’s original design on Beast Wars. Idk why, it’s just always struck a cord with me lol. The original toy (and the 2006 version) are amazing, but this just looks.. mind blowing.

Has there been any word of masterpiece figures for the transmetal beast wars line?

Actually has there been any word of any other figures for the beast wars line at all? Huge beast wars fan here.

Lastly, does anyone here know where in Japan they might be selling these masterpiece figures? I'll be going to Japan in November and hopefully can pick these up for a little cheaper! I'm willing to help out one other member here pick up something as well (very limited space in my baggages!)

No info about other BW MPs, except vague rumors from a few years back that Takara intends to produce all S1 cast members. Transmetals were never big in Japan, so I doubt we'll see them any time soon. Japanese-only BW characters (Lio Convoy, Big Convoy) are more likely, IMO.

Re: Japan, I'm sure that one of the members living there will help you, but I doubt you'll get them cheaper than from online retailers which all give 20%-30% off Takara's listed retail price.

 

Sammael is correct. You shouldn’t expect to go to japan and see big discounts. They actually pay a pretty high price for their products. Because you are a foreigner you won’t have to pay the consumption tax, but the price is still not good. Online retailers have the best price for sure.

That being said there is nothing like picking up and buying a transformer off the shelf from japan. But when I did it the transformers were dead in the West around 1999. And seeing transformers on a shelf (G1 bookstyle reissues) was literally inconceivable. I lost my mind and I bought blitzwing, hotrod, Kip, Perceptor, and Stepper. I imagine it’s not the same now because those figures have new versions in Walmarts around America these days or recently.

 

There are some very good 3p BW figures if you want to take a look at.

 

To think that we are at most 5 months away from this. It's an amazing time to live.

I'm still hoping that one day someone will remaster the entire beast wars series. They can keep everything the same but just update all the graphics on here which have dated horribly. Still have the whole series dvd collection

Commonly referred to as "3rd Party"
If you're looking for stylized figures, Perfect Effect has a Lio Convoy and an Optimal Optimus (and Primal Prime) out, and they're in the process of releasing TM2 Megatron.
Generation Toy has a bigger than MP sized Optimus Primal based off of "T-Beast" design, which is very Zoids looking.
And my personal favorite, Jiang Xing is releasing a MP scale TM2 Megatron. Very show accurate sculpt, but probably the furthest project out.
There's also stuff like Transart Toys which Knocked off the original Optimal Optimus and downsized it, adding articulation and retractable cannons for more show accuracy. They are also releasing TM2 Megatron KO to match that scale and update to the design.
I'm sure there's more, but that's what springs to mind first. Beast Wars product from official and unofficial parties are on the up swing, but there isn't a whole lot out there compared to cars, trucks, and jets.

Holy smokesss!! Thank you so much for putting me on all of these. I just looked them all up and i'm definitely interested in the jiang xing models! I saw a post that even said that they will doing most of the beast wars cast! How exciting!! I think the masterpiece figures do a better job of keeping it show accurate but i'd say its close enough.

Was there ever any mention of pricing?

Yeah. The projected price of JX Megatron is wild! If it proves to be true I'll happily double up on their releases as well.
Price is a bit of a polarizing topic now days, so I TRY to stay out of it, but I figure if I can buy 3 Takara BW Megatrons, I should be fine buying at least two of every JX figure. I look forward to the final piece of this Megatron and seeing what all they have for us going forward.
Give my season 2 and 3 MP scaled figures the same love as I'm showing the season 1 stuff!
