I'm not sure. I got the part about the ankles from Knerdout. And I remember BSF mentioning pushing in the chest to tab it in, but doesn't do it. Can't think of anyone that mentions the flip out tabs to hold the sides of the chest in. The buttflap I figured out on my own.

Thanks, brother - I'll try! Just a matter of finding time to do it ;)

Yeah, man, it's crazy how a little more articulation adds so much more enjoyment to the figures. Just makes them so much more expressive and alive! Consistency be damned, I love that TT keeps pushing the envelope of what's possible in this line. :)

Pro-tips haha! I've broken one myself - My og black Tracks stand broke off in Ironhide's asshole a couple years ago. Couldn't get it out and just tossed the stand and bought a new Ironhide and Tracks stand haha. I've been very careful ever since. The key is to just be very careful and take your time but also to hold both the figure and the stand, supporting them both near the connection. When I broke the one peg it was because I went to adjust Ironhide's pose without giving the stand near the peg any support. I believe the great @RichP has broken at least one but managed to successfully repair it!

Fairly. The peg's long and skinny and made of translucent plastic and these figures are relatively heavy. Looks like they've taken steps to correct this in newer figures, though, with Megatron's flight stand peg being made of very durable material and I've heard the same about Dinobot's stand.

I can't remember the exact amount I paid for Sunstreaker, I think around $80 shipped from Amazon Japan, but I've gotten way more than 80 bucks of enjoyment out of this guy already.

You should watch a guy like Wotafa, a lot of those steps are in the instructions, people tend to miss them. The japanese reviewers are often better at going through the steps and showing you the transformation.

I would not be against them making more cradles like Dinobot for the different molds, where he has the peg and also shorter thicker pegs that correspond to the screw holes on the cradle, so all the weight isn't focused on just the peg.

Beautiful photos and setup, @Jdk504 . Have you tried tabbing in Sunstreaker's inner ankle kibble to close that gap? It also stabilizes the boots so they don't collapse.

Thanks for the recommendation. I rarely read the instructions - my eyes just can't handle some of those steps in those tiny pictures. I tend to watch video reviews for the transformation instructions and follow along. But I usually just watch whoever comes up first on youtube. I'll definitely watch some Wotafa stuff.

The inside of his boots just above his ankles. Take a look at my shots on the previous page to see the difference. Closes the gap and holds the boots together securely ;)

That's what I was talking about in my earlier post. I didn't realize either. If you push that bottom panel (the rear of the doorframe) in, it will actually click into place and fill in that gap. It will also line up with that leg panel and hold it in place, so it won't collapse inward when you pose the legs like it tends to do with it the ankle untabbed.

Hey guys I really need help. It seems like I have another issue with my SS . The right hip of my SS is also loose with play/wiggle and there's a big gap in the right hip compare to the one on the left.. Look at the pic I attached. Do your copy has this issue as well, or am I getting a very defected copy? IMG_20180908_230342.jpg

Yep, mine’s the same. I think I remember seeing that in others’ pics as well.

I actually took the hips apart to see if I could improve things. Long story short: it wasn’t worth it. You have to remove a pin, and some of the plastic pieces are clipped tightly together. I’m very lucky I didn’t break it getting it apart.

In the end, I was able to get him back together fine, but wasn’t able to improve the hips at all.

The inner workings of the hips are actually asymmetrical. I think the varying tightness in the hips is because there is more contact between the teeth of the ratchets on one side than on the other. And the slightly bigger gap between the hip flap and crotch piece on one side is also caused by the asymmetrical design. Nothing to be done about that.

This image really shows how the MP line has evolved. I'd rather see the reverse though. They nailed Sideswipe back in 2012. The upcoming more toy accurate Cordon would look much better with Sideswipe unfortunately. Transformers Masterpiece - MP-42 Cordon

I put on some reprolabels. I just wanted to get it to better capture the Sunstreaker in my head. Like a halfway blend of toy and cartoon. Man I think the reprolabels add soooo much. It took it from a figure I felt iffy about, and was considering selling, to one of my favorite looking Masterpiece alt modes. It's subtle but adds so much.

I really like what Takara has done with the Sunstreaker/Cordon mold. They have very good points of articulation, the sculpts are great, the retractable headlights and disappearing rear engine features are clever. The only things missing are rubber tires, arm cannons for Sunstreaker and a rifle for Cordon. With that said I'd really like to see what Takara can do with an 2.0 versions of MP Sideswipe and Red Alert.

Yeah, I think a Sunstreaker 2.0 would basically transform itself. ;)
