Just wanted to say thanks to the OP for saying "Legends SIZE" instead of the incorrect "Legends SCALE"

Well they are more affordable... Alas, I'm sticking to collecting regular MPs. I may pick up a legends figure here and there, but I certainly won't be collecting them.

Hell yes it is a good thing. There's more variety and options. Plus, with some you can mix and match parts and accessories to get things just how you want them, like my GT+MFT Megatron.

For a rank-and-file standard carbot like Sideswipe, legends size IS in legends scale.

Think of it this way, Hasbro's IDW style legends Optimus prime from Thrilling 30 is legends size but not legends scale. It's too small to be in scale.

The larger DX9 Dutch (Optimus) figure is legends scale but not legends size (more like scout size)

Iron Factory's War Giant (Bruticus), when all put together, is Voyager size (or maybe a tad bigger), but he's still legends scale.

Now the fun part is that everyone is going to have their own personal idea of what 'scale' they prefer. Company A's version of a figure may be 1cm too short while Company B's is just right.

Some figures started getting so big because of OS knockoffs that it spawned something of a Legends+ movement, where everything is a notch bigger.

But there's absolutely nothing wrong with saying an appropriately sized, at least in the ball-park, figure is legends scale.

Legends Size is your 8ish cm tall figure. Legends Scale is when the characters are to scale to each other, with some being Legends Size/Class figures, and others being larger size/class figures.

Again people aren’t sure what the word scale means...

The doors and hood even open, in LEGENDS scale.

What a time to be collecting plastic toy robots!

In this arena it would be the "a ratio of size in a map, model, drawing, or plan" definition.

In Legends Scale, 1 meter would equal X number of millimeters. So a character like G1 Jazz who is 4 meters tall, would have a shorter figure than say Megatron, whose G1 height is 6 meters. Though the figures might not end up the same size class, they would be the same scale if their height ratio was relatively the same.

    Okay!

7.6 to 8 cm, that's in that legion-class range I want my carbots to be in. This and NA's potential reveals are the ones that have my attention the most.

Yes. If only we could make that sink in to folks that just read “legends” and think that means every character will be 3 inches tall.

So is he too big? Too small? I only collect legends+ so I don't know what size a carbot needs to be in order to be in scale with other legends figures.

We could also not use HasTak’s size branding, just call them mini figures or minis and demand of ourselves that we remember the exact height of every figure... until we inevitably lapse back into the branded size categories.

So, when in doubt, call it a “Mini” and just wait until you see it in comparison to some other figure to make an estimation... like in the Papa Toys Rodders thread! =P

Nice to see more legends producers. Not totally sold on the robot mode, but I prefer it to the magic square version (narrower chest and some better articulation decisions to my mind).
My default opinion about die cast is also ‘hmm’.
