See? Generations IS the lower cost, play-friendlier alternative to the MP versions, butt flaps included. :lol

Both Prime and Magnus's backpacks look pretty great for retail figures. Then again, I am pretty bias since this line for some reason really speaks to me from what I've seen.

It kind of feels like the studio line, but for Generations. If that makes any sense.

Worrying about backpacks and buttflaps is like worrying about the underside of a car mode to look like the real underside of a car. It's stupid and pointless. Who is staring at the back of their figures all the live long day? You have taken our hobby to a bizarre new level!

They’re both aiming for similar things, keep the characters mostly in scale, and pack in as much articulation and cool engineering as possible.

Both are like “masterpiece lite” for their respective eras.

This ultra Magnus is better than the MP for me. The lack of an inner Prime was disappointing.

WFC Prime's Smokestacks are weird because they have to be ports for weapons too

You know, with one extra hinge Ulta Magnus’ butt flap could have folded up and locked into place. One hinge.

I still wonder what could’ve been if Magnus was given a modern masterpiece budget, with emphasis on toon accuracy and articulation...

Well said. They just don't have one specific media they're pulling from.

Honestly it kinda works with his already smaller size in his head and torso.

He’d probably have a better shoulder range and most importantly not be a fatass.

Honestly, I’d have to agree but only because he has so little else to really wow me. If he was already an amazing figure I’d be okay with it but as it stands he could’ve benefited from it.

It can make a figure look weird from the side and front in certain poses (ex. Wide stance)

Yeah but how long do you think people are gonna look at figures from the side or other interesting angles? The car underside complaint is valid since you don’t display cars that way but there’s no correct way to display an action figure.

He always had a backpack and in hand it will look different then up close pics.

The prices aren't as bad as you guys quote. I paid $237 for BW Megatron. I paid $186 for MP-36 Megatron and $179 for BW Dinobot.

Sounds like your justifying reasons yo not have to spend money maybe? MP BW MEGS supposed to be one of the biggest Masterpieces and has lots of engineering and parts/accessories. I think if you dont want it that's fine though. Also did you know S.o.C. Voltron doubled in value already? :)  At least the Golion version did.so assume it's not just a packaging thing.

That was cool they never did a Ultra Magnus that transformed like the cartoon before.

They wanted to keep it accurate to source material. And unless the buttplate hinges and attached to it's self to create the same cartoon accurate buttplate just smaller/shorter, then it would not look right tabbed into the back pack. :)

When it comes to bwmp I’m talking strictly listed price, not price after any sort of preorder discounts, and yes they have gotten that high.

Well friend, that's consumerism. We all have to justify what's worth our money or not. I did know the Golion Voltron doubled in price... but I don't think I want to sell it.
