What's not true? Amazon is definitely going to commit to you the lowest price in Yen. Forget this .jp business from now. Let's say you are buying this from Amazon America. Amazon is going to give you the best price in US dollars. If you are an Australian, European, etc Amazon is not going to guarantee that you'll have the best price in those respective currencies. If you still think you are, you better ask people here again.

What I’m saying is AJ , will honor the lowest price if / when the yen drops. If the yen raises , it will remain at the lowest price. That’s how it states it in there policy . That’s alls I’m saying .
    *EDIT*

And after rereading your post it seems like we’re agreeing on the same subject matter. Lol

Let's all just agree Amazon JP rocks.

Not so much for most other countries, but not AJP's fault. When I lived in South America, importing something would mean paying taxes (and other made up fees) out of the ass in a way that it would cost as much (if not more) as the item itself. Fucking thieves (Governments).

I need a separate thread for us saps who can’t benefit from AJ so I don’t have to constantly see people patting themselves on the back for how much money they’re saving.

Any luck getting your Dinobot yet? Will you be ordering your MP-43 from anywhere?

I did finally get my Dinobot on Thursday but was too tired to even open the shipping box (I like to set aside a good few hours for Beast Wars figures and be in high spirits when opening them which is simply not feesible during a work day) and yesterday I travelled away to see a mate so I won’t get to have a play with Dinobot till Tuesday. Still gotta cut out my plastic shims before doing anything. I want to safeguard the figure from the get-go.

I P.O.d two Megatons from Anine Export but now I’ve experienced the sting of their shipping fees and the epic delay from customs, (just under 4 days to make it from japan to England after waiting all weekend for them to ship and then 2 friggin weeks to go through customs!!) I’m switching all my business back to MyKombini. They’ve never done me wrong- well once but it was more of a Bandai distribution error...
I’ll still be paying more than all you AJ shoppers but at least I won’t feel like I’m getting repeatedly screwed over at every stage of the delivery process.

Huh, Amazon actually adjusted the import fees on my Megs. My pre-order price is still the same, but my total is less.

I'm still paying about the same though as the dollar went down against the yen but oh well. :lol

You know I think you still have time to cancel those pre-ordered Megatrons (you get 60 days I think), becuase you are certainly going to be stung for customs and face the same delays if you ship both together.

AE are excellent for price and provided you keep the value/weight/size of the parcel down they'll sail through customs. My only problem with them is the recent steep increasing in there shipping prices.

    Well, I finally did it.
    Pre-ordered from Amazon Japan.

I’m a bit worried since it didn’t say it wasn’t charging me yet, and my country is in Japanese characters. Hopefully he finds his way here.

Amazon doesn't charge until they're ready to ship.

You can use a gift card anytime. I do this all the time. Pre Order and select a credit card for payment. If you have a gift card available, you can use that as well. If you add a new gift card, or funds to an existing gift card later on, you can use that as well. Just pull up your order, click on order details and under payment you will be asked if you want to apply the gift card balance to the order. If you do, the gift card will be used right away, and the amount will be deducted from the balance of the order. Any remaining balance at the time of shipment will then be charged to the selected credit card originally chosen for payment (you can also change to a different credit card at any time)

Not quite - you’re confusing the rise and fall of the price with the rise and fall of the exchange rate. Once preordered, the price in yen will never go up for you - only down to reflect lower prices. However, this is completely independent of the exchange rate. Right now ¥100 costs about $0.90 US. If the figure were to cost ¥30,000, then you would pay about $270.00. If the yen were to strengthen against the dollar before you paid for the figure, that would change. Let’s say the yen strengthens to where ¥100 costs $1.00. The figure would still cost ¥30,000. That hasn’t changed or gone up. But, because of the exchange rate, that ¥30,000 would now cost you $300.00 instead of $270. The figure did not increase in price, but you’re still paying more for it. Amazon does not guarantee against that.

    Hope that helps clarify things.

I ordered something that was in stock at Amazon jp. And even though it showed free shipping for the item , I paid about 10 bucks for it. Is there a way to avoid that extra fee? I'm in the US

Exactly, no, free 2 day international shipping is not available. Still cheapest show available, I'll pay that shipping fee happily! Now I'll just need to find out how to change the shipping address; I'll no longer be in this city when Meg ships!

$10 shipping for a figure this size from Japan to the US is a MIRACLE.

Not quite right. 10 dollar shipping is achievable. The miracle part is it's 10 bucks and it's EMS, not some stupid slow SAL shipping.
