To be fair, god bomber was always a parts former. At least divine shooter didn’t fall apart like Takara’s god bomber.

 

Hmm not bad. I'm happy MT gave us a goodbomber option. I would have also liked a more intact transformation, but at least he looks to stay together solidly and pose pretty well. He will look good on the shelf next to Thunder Manus.

 

Pretty disappointed that they didn’t improve the crotch armor.... Seriously? They could’ve added some hinge joints or made the thing thinner/smaller. Mgghhh... Not looking forward to exploding crotch piece when mines arrive.....

On the plus side, at least Divine Shooter itself is one of the better representation of god bomber (for reals, how many were there? I think they got lost in the sands of time). Now it’s fanshobby’s turn!

 

Hey, I said that Takara’s CAN stay intact, not that it DOES.   Yeah, not sure what happened with the tolerances on Godbomber. The design is fine but parts fit so tenuously that when I pose him he falls apart.

Still looking forward to this one. I’m excited to see what I can come up with for fan modes.

No joke. TT's Godbomber has no structural integrity. He's still not as bad as Xovergen Trailerforce God Armor, but it does take away a little when the allegedly impervious power armor being worn by the Autobot Leader falls off like it was constructed by the lowest bidder in the Autobot military-industrial complex.

 

Figure looks fairly cool. Not sure if it’s 90 bucks cool but still. I’m also slighty disappointed it has to disassemble to transform. Ever since Takara made a transformable version of Godbomber, I was hoping any future takes on it would try to do the same (and also not fall apart at the slightest touch). Oh well.

 

Again, we can’t blame maketoys for being somewhat faithful to the tv show.

God bomber will forever haunt Takara, lol.

 

Maybe Takara half-assed it because they plan a MP version a couple of years down the road and they want people to upgrade.  
Seriously though it's baffling why Takara went out of their way to make a full God Bomber figure, one that can transform intact no less, and then just didn't bother to make sure the connections were secure. Even the headmaster doesn't stay in the socket on mine and will fall out if you turn the figure upside down.

Anyway, neither here nor there, awesome Divine Shooter is awesome!

 

Agreed! If I hadn't gone all in on the FansHobby guy, I'd totally be getting him. I may end up getting him anyways someday, since the CD series seems to be taking off in a fun direction.

 

I was originally fully planning to do both (well, three if you count Takara) MakeToys and FansHobby. I ended up convincing myself FansHobby's was too big for me and getting rid of it, but I've seriously been regretting that decision and thinking about getting another one because it IS a wonderful figure. I can only imagine their God Bomber is going to be wonderful as well.

 

Now that’s a third party god bomber I haven’t heard in years..... Anyone remember that you had to go out of your way to make the thing work by putting adapters in it? Lol.

 

It came with several baggies filled with counterintuitive plastic shrapnel that the instructions (lovingly crafted by a squadron of highly trained toads armed with an endoscopy camera, I suspect) generously suggested were adapters. I like to think I'm pretty open minded and forgiving of toys because I'm not an engineer and I can't design squat, but holly hell did I hate that POS.

Edit: I tried looking more into Xovereign. Apparently, god bomber was the last thing they made. How..... Depressing.....

 

I may have bought this figure if it was a little cheaper, but I don't really see the need to upgrade. He just doesn't seem as fun to mess around with as other CD figures in robot mode based on Peaugh's review. The armor doesn't really do that much more compared to the original armor. I think it's cool that they're making this for the people who love Godbomber, but I think I'm going to save my money for the next release.

Now, if they happen to release a repaint of this figure in an evil black color to go on Thunder Erebus, I'd probably bite.

 

Ugh that backpack area looks really unfinished to me. Also the way the god ginrai crotch piece just sticks out of his backside is....blergh. I still want this guy but ngl this is a bit disappointing.

 

Unless there is a good deal to be had....I'll think I'll pass. Putting the trailer together looks to be much less a fiddly mess than armor contraption (I really don't take much pleasure in putting it together). The robot mode looks pretty nice for what it's supposed to be. Honestly, I just want a second rocket launcher and sword. It would have been cool if they could have made it like a "train" or a triple tractor-trailer with the trailers being able to interconnect. Would have been dorky as hell and likely not to meet any roadway standards but whatever. I think its perfect for all those God Bomber lovers out there and I'm happy for them. I like it, but I don't "$90-like-it".

 

Im still buying it but im disappointed the crotch piece is not articulated.

 

Hopefully, my attempts to sand down the crotch piece yields positive results.

Edit: Aside from certain parts of the crotch armor being to big, the main culprit is thunder manus’ own crotch flaps. Maketoys should’ve put a ball joint or hinge joint for the side parts of the crotch armor :/

I wonder if maketoys would make an upgrade kit? I’d buy just to get an improved crotch armor.....
