All the G1 remakes were cool at first and now it’s getting excruciating. Hasbro for fucks sake don’t be afraid to do original things. Kids will buy whatever looks cool and fans will buy anything.

Combiner Wars Liokaiser is a nice idea but it essentially boils down to a cocktease of a toy because you KNOW HasTak is probably never gonna make a proper modern update.

I hate how Hasbro feels like they have to expedite “gimmick” and “collector” lines. That sticks us with the Prime wars toyline, which is a bunch of cool looking figures that don’t really do anything, and then Cyberverse, a line of mostly half assed “gimmick” toys. Give us a toyline like Cybertron where collectors can still enjoy them AND they do cool things as well. At this point Cyberverse is rivaling Armada in the “gimmicks over functionality” department.

Why do almost all modern Grimlock toys kinda suck? Studio Series looks fine I guess (I don’t own it but it doesn’t look bad) but when it comes to something close to the G1 design we’ve been getting shit. POTP is okay but loaded with so many compromises for combined mode that all it could ever really be was okay at best.

Hasbro HAS to stop playing it safe. Stop doing shit that will satisfy collectors - Seige looks like such a big boring pile of nothing and it’s because they wanted to appease collectors with a G1 centered toyline. They do know there’s more to Transformers than G1 right? What about beast wars?

    Oh and also

    STOP MAKING BEAST FORMERS BIOMECHANICAL

The ENTIRE POINT of Optimus Primal is that he is a gorilla. Not a cyber gorilla, not a hybrid mecharilla, a fucking earth gorilla. I know this doesn’t really apply to the toys as much anymore, like transmetal is fine, but for gods sake can we get some ACTUAL true blue honest to god legit beast formers?

I agree...I grew up on G1, and I absolutely love it, but I've also enjoyed the original lines that followed over the years. For example, I'd love to see a Masterpiece Fuzors Silverbolt, Armada Hot Shot, or an Armada Red Alert.

Why do all transformers headsculpts need to be stoic? Can’t they show a tiny bit of emotion? I can understand bots like prowl or ultra Magnus, but like not even a cheeky smirk for hotrod or sideswipe? No shit eating grin for swindle or Starscream? No crazed smile for megatron or Galvatron? I know the current MP’s come with alternate faces but why should you have to pay over $100 for emotion? Most display shelves look like awkward family photos.

Also can we cool it with G1, we’re finally finishing off another line of slightly updated g1 designs to move onto a line of slightly updated g1 designs but with battle damage. At least give us some idw since the series is ending or some beast wars for primus sake. There are too many continuities of transformers to keep panning to the same crowd over and over again.

Edit: Also tired of the movieverse board, it’s all full of people posting the same 15 threads about their unoriginal idea, what if theory, or asking a question only Michael bay or Travis Knight could answer. Not to mention the endless hate. I get it the movies aren’t perfect but all series have their problems, most of us just want a place to enjoy what we like without the hate.

Oh, the usual...figure is a massive shelfwarmer, gets passed up for months on end, and now is apparently worth something on the aftermarket. It's even worse if you had a wholesale account and felt like you were trying to charge for leprosy and only after you've given the last of them away does the price climb to stupid levels equivalent to the effort expended.

Optimus Primal should not have even been on the list for the PotP vote. As soon as I saw him on there, I knew he'd ultimately win due to BW's popularity, and that's cool, but there should've been no Optimus Prime equivalents on the list. They already exist as the big leader guy, they shouldn't be given that again.

For that matter, Ultra Magnus should also not have been there, considering that he's too goddamn obvious.

Additionally, nor should Star Saber have been on the list. Because Star Saber should have automatically been in the PoTP line anyway because the Leader-class gimmick was made for him. It would've been nice to have some variation in the Leaders of PoTP instead of just Optimus, Rodders, Optimus But He's A Gorilla and their black repaints.

    Agreed

I always zero out of the franchise between movie toylines (2012-2014/ 2015-2017) when the GEEWUN and kiddie show stuff take up the Transformers sections in stores. It seems stores zero out too, with how much they reduce the size of TF sections to near non-existence during these periods.

This is the longest I’ve been on a TF streak since 2011, thanks to the Studio Series.
Aside from a few exceptions, the aesthetic of the non-movie stuff just aren’t appealing to me at all.

Blue beam in the middle of a city lol

Whedon totally based The Leviathans from The Avengers on the Decepticon ships too.

Yeah, these annoying retorts are thrown around when criticizing media, politics, and etc too. Anything that involves fanboys.

    For example:
“The Avengers, the last 4 Potter films, and etc are fucking overhyped trash”
“Can you do better? Stop being entitled”
“Uh, no, because I’m not a movie director, but ____ is and you don’t have to be a film director to know that they did a trash job.”

People just like finding ways to devalue/ stop your opinion. Create an echo chamber basically.

Damn, I totally forgot about it too lol.

Hmmm, you're kind of getting nearish to breaking rule 3. Remember that words do not reflect tone accurately; our comments are often misunderstood when the tone is not clear. Also that the quote given was an example to prove a point, and regardless of if you agree with the point is no reason to unduly imply anything. It's clear something is bothering you so feel free to rant about it here. This thread was created for that very purpose. Just mind the rules when you do. And if my tone isn't clear, here it is: mild concern.

    ummm.... sold for $102.

that's ludicrous for this mold. Box wasn't even graded. original msrp $14.99 (not even that long ago folks)

total sham. might as well pack my bags.. with dummies like this overpaying for this fig I'll never have a chance.

oh yeah.. did I mention I'm trying to find this one :lolol

I don't get it either.. I mean if were honest its not even a good mold. I only want it to complete my set... oh and I dig the mini starship too.

side note: the rant thread is fun to read. :dunce

Nothing was bothering me. But I was just letting him know that I was very certain the initial quote was a joke, if anything he seemed bothered at me for pointing out the possibility . As you said previously, tone comes across different on text.

Alrighty then. Just be wary of what you say to someone on a rant next time. Next time someone responds to your comment and you view the comment as having bothered them, the best thing to do is not to respond. Since you understand they are bothered, why drive the nail in deeper? That's all, have a swell day!

Somehow certain people think you should be allowed to critisize working people, but people who basically get to make a living by sending their weird hang ups into the world via film, television writing or otherwise for a living are off limits.

Speaking as someone who hates the MCU (and can articulately and reasonably explain why for an extended period of time), this speaks to me on a spiritual level.

It's really annoying when people make threads with some random title that in no way hints at the purpose or content of the thread.
