The clip doesn't look too bad. The animation is alright I guess, but there's something wrong with Windblade's voice

 

There's a difference between judging something on its own merits, critiquing something for technical successes and failings, and eviscerating something simply because that something that was designed to cater to a different demographic than you manages to not cater to you.

Ah yes. That 'one' time in which he disguised as Optimus Prime (scene which I always tried to consider as an animation glitch for the 'one' episode to make the story work... .)

Well OK, yes. I guess I could accept it if they 'could' retract the wings (as unrealistic as it is from a technical point of view, but oh well ) temporarily for isolated events...(in Windblade's case though it appears that 'wings retracted' was her default position...).

But anyway, apart from being an insult to the awesome and classic Seeker design  , man, in this clip TC appeared to be retracting/expanding his wings in and out with every change of scene (up to a point I actually thought these were animation errors in which they simply forgot to include the wings in some scenes..). That...or TC was having a nervous tic... 

 

Netflix is popular in United States and other english-speaking countries. What about the rest of the world? From what I get Netflix does not distribute rights to their movies to other platforms. And depending on where you live the lack of access to Netflix (and broadband Internet connection) and dubbing would impact the reception of the show for younger audiences. Most kid Tv stations do their own dubbing plus they are already available for the viewers. That's the main problem with Netflix in my country: the internet connection and lack of native-language content on the platform.

She's far from overpowered, in fact she lost her first fight. So it rather seems like she'll be depicted as a doormat.
We don't know enough of the writer to conclude she's authorial insert.
How is she a Mary Sue character in this cartoon?

 

I'm wondering how anyone can make ANY assumptions about the execution of the plot in this series based on a 2 minute fight clip.

 

That’s why I held back on mentioning it. The earlier poster was talking about the state of kid’s animation. If we’re mentioning adult shows, Venture Bros., Rick and Morty, Archer, and Bob’s Burgers easily qualify.

I didn’t include Stretch because I’m not sure it qualifies for decent audience.

 

There’s something wrong with Windblade in general. Her eyes are huge and her face looks plump which doesn’t fit her. Her voice and personality are absolutely trans though. Each version of Windblade has some aspect of fun and lively personality to her, even RID15 could do that. Then there’s also this wing confusion which I don’t want to talk directly about again.

 

Netflix is a very specific online only audience though. Its kind of a niche market. I think his original argument was more about broadcast tv shows, like the other shows he mentioned.

 

That's true.
Her RID persona wasn't the most interesting.
If they use her, the way Scott wrote her later on (cause she pretty much sucked at first) would be best.
A character who is not a fighter, but who is basically a good guy schemer.
We'll never get such a character in Cyberverse though.

Yeah that's kind of what she (eventually) became IDW comics, and Windsweeper makes a good point that that's the best incarnation of the character.

You know I'm pretty old school, and I love me some G1, but after well over a decade of G1 re-hash isn't it about time we did something new with the whole thing? They could shake things up a bit. This is all just getting really old.

You literally see the character talking for 1 minute in a very specific situation where she has to deal with an attacking enemy, worry about her friend's state of mind. It's beyond stupid to assume it means she will "never have fun ever" because a character is naturally reacting negatively to a factualy bad situation.
