Nah, clearly the GA is our boy heinlad. down there on some pleasure cruiser, interrupted from idly scratching his humungous balls all day to stare in pants shitting fear at god come to life.

 

Perhaps it's Outback? After years dead, appearing only in flashbacks and prequels, he finally makes it back to life in the main 'present day timeline'. He proudly pulls off the helmet of his 'Pharma' body armour, and reveals his identity, ready to take a leading role in Lost Light from this moment on … in the final pages of Issue 25. On the last page of all, a random Guardian robot wanders past and shanks him.

 

Only if it's with an actual shank. As in a tiny improvised sharp object.

The last panel of IDW needs to be a gargantuan skyscraper sized robot stabbing a minibot to death with a sharpened toothbrush.

That would be great actually. It would tie in with his Functionist leanings as well.

Mind you, being IDW there's a disturbing chance that this would be ruined by a reference to Prowl's one-eyed status after Combiner Wars, by having, right after someone's pulled the Pharma mask off to reveal Prowl, someone else pull the Prowl mask off to reveal Shockwave.

This, then, would tie into the inevitable end of the final issue of Unicron, wherein via a series of unmaskings, every Transformer is in fact revealed to be Shockwave, at various points in his journeys through time, and suffering from enough intermittent amnesia that it's a surprise to some of him.

"Shockwave! You were behind … absolutely everything, all along!"

"And I'd have got away with it if it weren't for you pesky meddling me!"

Unicron is eventually defeated when, having observed this, he gets suspicious, finds a shiny moon to take a good long, hard look at his face in it, takes the mask off, sighs dejectedly (but logically) at the existential pointlessness of it all, and concludes that since the entire universe is already him, his current purpose is redundant.

As in, the guy who has forgotten he is adaptus, flees functionalist Primus, goes back in time, and becomes the GA.

The more they release, the more it seems Adaptus was the real reveal. His original form shown in the LL23 flashbacks is pretty definitively not someone we've seen before. Also, given the fact he was the betrayer of the guiding hand, not Mortilus, I don't see any way he would be Skids. I think the only real puzzle is what it was that necessitated him to change bodies, unless it was damage from Tyrest/Solomus's brain portal.
