    Ouch.
And here I was pretty excited for this. How did it feel plugging the hand in? Was it overly tight or did it just happen to snap the plastic?

Either way, I'll probably get this over the Dream Wave one. I just don't need all of Dream Wave's extra bits (plus this one's cheaper).

Hmm. I wonder if Hasbro thickened the holes so this would happen, thus forcing you to buy another and/or skip the 3rd party stuff altogether? Either way, it's a win for them.

I’m sorry that happened to you, though I do appreciate the warning. It’s simple enough to sand down the pegs a bit.

This has been happening with PE's Dinobot hands/feet and Slug/Sludge too. It hasn't been hapening with Swoop and Snarl because the plastic there is more pliable, so hopefully Sinnertwin and Cutthroat will be fine. Still I'm skipping on this kit because it doesnt have what I'm looking for while TCW's does, hopefully I won't face the same troubles on that one.

There is no conspiracy of hasbro making toys to break with 3rd party add ons so you buy another. That’s the dumbest thing ever. That would imply the official hands would crack them too and they don’t.

I didn't say it was fact. I was pointing out a possibility. Other companies do things of that nature all the time, Apple for example. No need to be unpleasant.

Oh, and there's clearly an issue between official and 3rd party. If the official posts fit and the 3rd party do not, there's a discrepancy between the two products and their sizes. I find it odd that PE's stuff, which is remolds of their previous products, just all of a sudden breaks the POTP line but didn't seem to affect the CW line, which is the same type of engineering that the POTP line uses. Whoever's fault it is, they need to fix it. That said, it's not impossible for Hasbro to pull something like that, but I never said they did.

Hasbro doesn’t do anything like that. They prefer to ignore 3rd parties because some of the people there actually like them.

There’s no conspiracy and hasbro isn’t Apple

Again, never said they do, I was giving a possibility. I never said there was a conspiracy, I wondered if it was a possibility. I mentioned Apple because they're a major company that does pull that kind of stuff.

Honestly, it's not so much what I said. It's me, that you have the issue with. Hence this attitude. Don't worry, you won't have to worry about me responding to you much past this. I'll consider you a non entity, you're welcome to do the same with me.

Its a possibility, but I think it's an unlikely one. I think the more likely culprit is that the QC on the PE parts is probably not all A+, or it's possibly mold degradation. Maybe someone can sit and eyeball the diameter of the pegs on the PE fists during the Combiner Wars run vs. the POTP run.

I will note that I suffered some cracking with the TFDW set installed on Hasbro's Defensor, so it might also just be crap tolerances on the figures in general for anything that doesn't match it's pack-in accessory engineering. I doubt it's some conspiracy, as it would take a large amount of cash to specifically retool a line just to frustrate 3P add ons, especially since 5mm pegs are one of the universal constants with Transformers.

My blot is also cracked but that’s because I was using a KO dark blue set until a pink PE set came out. This is my second rippersnapper because that same KO set cracked him too. I picked up a second one when I ordered this not realizing it too would do it. I was going to get a second blot but now I know the PE sets do it too. Surpisingly was they’re not loose. Blot with the foot even cracked holds on better than the KO.

I don’t blame hasbro for this at all. It was my choice to buy an add on and the official hands and feet were fitting just fine.

The fragile combiner foot/hand slots on the official toys tells me HasTak has to up their game in plastic quality.

And that's the most likely scenario. I don't want anyone thinking my initial post was a definitive statement, I was just spitballing because the breakages are really ramping up (they're also being mentioned on Facebook, not just here) and was just giving a possible option, not a fact or anything set in stone.

I knew the TDW sets caused some problems, but they're a different product line and company. This is PE who's used these molds for a while now and suddenly POTP toys are breaking when using them, but the exact same molds and the CW figures seem to work well without breakages or if there were any, they were few and far between. Honestly, I don't recall any reports of breakages, in fact when I found out they took away the ball joint ankles, I was done with their sets, period, then I heard about breakages on top of that, I swore them off completely and haven't bought a single one since.

Tolerances are definitely a culprit, it's just odd is all. It was merely a stab in the dark.

I just find it odd that official products (aside from possible molding issues) don't seem to cause the same trouble as the 3rd party kits do. That said, Hasbro doesn't need to do anything, they more or less have us by the nards simply because we want their product and they're pretty much the only ones who make it...at least until the KO makers strike, but that takes a while.

Either way, it was just a guess. By no means was I calling Hasbro the villain.

I got you. No harm in talk, definitely. It's hard on these boards because there are a lot of decent people but also a few tinfoil hat weirdos that have their arguments all ready to go (scrawled in crayon on the back of a dirty newspaper) the second something isn't a magical, perfect toy.

Indeed. Sometimes it just is what it is, a toy. It's just that weirder things have happened, both with 3rd party companies, retailers and other companies like Apple who gleefully screw over customers using 3rd party items.

I think, in this case, it's just a bad situation all the way around is all. Crap happens. =\

Do the hands and feet transform to guns and have the same 5mm connectors as the rest of those kits? I assume yes.

Completely ignorant on those but I might need one.
