I've all 4 versions of this mold (regrettably, I don't have the LD Ice Blue Convoy & it'll be good if Makers "Encore" him moving forward) & I've to admit that I love Black Big Convoy the most.

IMHO, the Nemesis piece don't come close to it.

 

If you are a completist, Encore Big Convoy will be a nice additional to your current Big Convoy collection, cheers

 

It's still worth getting, especially being more cartoon accurate. I have the Sonokong Magmatron vs Convoy set, and this new encore one looks way better imo.

 

All this talk of a Big Convoy reissue made me go home and dig out this gem.i have to say this looks like a nice release and I very well may pick it up but I I don't think it tops the original. I guess it falls under the same ideals as my G1 MP collection. I look at the toon as a good guideline but I like a lot of the additional details and colors the original deco brings out of the mold.

 

I thought Big Convoy\'s Beast Mode had black eyes in the anime, not dark green.

 

dark green used to to liven up the beast mode, for sure.

 

Go ahead and get the reissue as you still can slowly search for the original Big Convoy

I do love what they have done with the new deco, but I am definitively waiting for the first reports of QC.

 

So, since Encore God Fire Convoy's packaging was very similar to his original one, do you guys expect Encore Big Convoy to come boxed like this? With an Encore-logo instead of the C-35 number of course, and some text-changes to advertise this release as a new version. Maybe an updated CG model for the cover too, God Fire Convoy's color changes weren’t as drastic as Big Convoys, so they might have to alter the picture to reflect the new paintjob.

 

Haven't thought of that. BW NEO boxes are my favorite ones from any other TF Collections. Not really plain boxes, a very nice design. I am afraiid they won''t release the same old box with all the inner cartoons and inserts.

 

What kind of stuff was in there? I only ever saw the Sonokong boxes with the plastic trays and the playing cards as extras.

 

LOL then I'd love us to get a cut of their profits!

 

Not sure about what else was in it, but personally I also liked window boxes. The BW Neo boxes also had a sharp angle cut on the side of the box



Sonokong vs the Takara Neo boxes reminds me of how Takara changed the Super Fire Convoy packaging from the window to the solid Sonokong type box.

 

You would deserve that… and so much more. You guys are doing fantastic work, the BWII release was above and beyond anything I have ever seen in the fan subbing community. The extras alone put many Blu-ray releases from big Hollywood studios and companies to shame.

Anyways, I’m very much looking forward to watching your subs of Beast Wars Neo later this year with this new figure on pre-order. Man, I'm hyped!

 

After hearing that some of the Korean releases of the original Big Convoy had rusty screws and sticky trunks I had to dig mine out. The figure is in great shape with nice screws and no sticky parts. Unfortunately, I don't have any of his missiles. I must have them in the bag with the instructions......somewhere.

I was satisfied with my original but I'm not sure if I'll ever find the missiles. I also don't want to spend money trying to replace the missiles since I should have them.......somewhere.

I'm definitely more tempted to pick this release up now.

 

In terms of packaging for Fire Convoy,Takara release 2 version, 1st version is the window box, the 2nd version is the Cereal box which you said is exactly like the solid Sonokong type box of Korean Fire Convoy.
