I was suspecting Magic Square (since PPT's just came out, I don't think any of us have them yet). But they must be widely spaced apart front/back because the size difference looks dramatic!

Yes, Detolf display cases have a square footprint (see the bottom shelf); they are not shallow shelves. So often times small figures end up in a U shape around the sides of one.

Yes those are Ms Toys and yeah they might be 3 - 4 inches apart from each other. Yes the P.E. figures, and i love the scale of them. the Detolf is 17" x 14" and is divided into 4 16" tall sections. i could probably snap a shelf by shelf series to show how they scale per display. and no comments about call of the primitives layout?

MFT? You mean Magic Square? MFT's are only a rumor at this point.

Finally had a chance to get some guys outside and take some pics. Thought it would be fun to have some of the circle of light square off against a phase sixer.

I hope Sixshot appears at some point before the end of IDW Phase 2, @bluesymetal. Supposedly he wasn’t killed by Metrpolex way back when, just very badly bruised.

And, I’m loving your edits, @Nemesis Otaku.

Meanwhile, here’s some ‘bots and ‘cons relaxing a bit~

I know there are these various "Tamashii Effect" items out there... auras, winds, explosions, etc that you can use to spice up a figure on display (see Search for"tamashii%20effect"/ ).

Does anyone happen to know of something similar that would look like a portal or rift in the fabric of space? Thinking of a 7"-9" tall plastic disc or blob that looks like a swirl of energy.

Basically I want this so that I can have several different Optimus toys next to each other (GT for G1, Hasbro legends for IDW, Iron Factory for Stormbringer, etc) around this rift so it looks like they're being pulled together from different universes.

Any leads? @GrimLocke I know you have your finger on the pulse of more anime figures than just Transformers...

Edit: Just found this option Exclusive Backdrop: Swirling Portal (with optional back stand) ..but I'm looking for something 3D that can have figures around it instead of a backdrop... keeping it in mind tho.

My first impulse would be to mix Bandai Tamashii bits with Innovative Toys’ light up display base, though that’s not quite the same thing.

Aura Crackles at ToyDojo Bandai Figure-rise Effect - Aura Effect (Blue)
And IT-01 at TF-D Inovative Toys IT01 LED TOY BASE With Colored Light
Or from Baba on eBay Inovative toys IT-01 LED Rotating Multi Purpose Display Base New instock | eBay

It’s not perfect, and might seem more like a space bridge, but I think you could make it work.

While also still not a hangin rift in space time, the Chosen Prime has some remaining stock of Bandai’s big ol’ blue acrylic flames~ Tamashii Effect Part BURNING FLAME (Blue)

Though, I’d also like to note that Violet is the warmest color, hence ROYGB’V (sorry, Indigo).

    Otherwise...

I would try looking into accessory parts and the like at 1999.co.jp/en, particularly from the Gundam Build Fighters and Build Divers lines, or from Kotubikya’s lines of mix and match mechs which might make for a dencent stargate with energy crackling around it.

For starters, there’s the “Universe Booster Plavsky Power Gate,” which is a mouthful for a ship, a stand and some effect parts. Though, if you set aside the stand arm and ship and just plug the gate to the stand base, that might be a simple start with some of Bandai’s Figure-Rise’s cracklin’ bits of energy to fill it out.

Universe Booster Plavsky Power Gate (HGBC) (Gundam Model Kits) Images List

Or, you could hijack Kamiki Burning Gundam’s aura, perhaps...

Kamiki Burning Gundam (HGBF) (Gundam Model Kits) - HobbySearch Gundam Kit/etc. Store

Lastly, I’d maybe look into Board Game and accessories sites. It’s not a simple recommendation, but it’s a decent suggestion.

I would be kinda surprised if there weren’t some warp gates for Warhammer 40k or some other table top miniatures game, but that might be an even more DIY adventure!

Who's better between dx9 WIP Mightron and GT's Mini Tyrant to go up with MFT Galvatron and DX9 Optimus Prime?

MFT Galvatron is about the same size as GT Tyrant if that helps. DX9 Optimus would be considerably smaller.

DX9 Migtron is about a full head (maybe even a little more) shorter than MFT Galvatron. I can make that work for me, since I envision Galvatron as an upgraded Megatron, but if you would like the two more similarly sized, GT Megatron is your guy.

As for DX9 Optimus -- Mightron is definitely the better choice scale-wise IMO. He's a few mm taller, but still works fine IMO. GT Megatron, on the other hand, is too tall (and bulky) relative to Dutch to look right IMO.

    :2c:

PS Couple o' pics of Mightron w/Dutch here.

yeah it seems that the DX9 version is the current best option since I have my Galvatron and Prime next to me I think I would agree on Galvatron being the upgrade to Megatron logically being taller and more powerful. Also I don't really like the huge back cannon on Tyrant
