You should probably start your own thread in one of the creative forums for your videos instead of spamming twenty new topics in the Toy forum.

As for your question...why is Transformers singled out? What makes Transformers customs different from any other toy-based hobby? Every toy franchise has figure customizers, there's nothing special about Transformers. People want to make adjustments to their toys or want to create new ones to fit in with their collection. What's so hard to understand about that?

I would suggest that these maybe would be more at home in the Transformers General Discussion.

I vaguely recall there once being a specific TF video forum for stuff like this, but that got axed a long time ago.

Oh, you know what, I was wrong. It does still exist: Transformers Video Discussion

@mandaci what is your favorite type of bread?

to stay on topic, not just Transformers have their fair amount of customizers. I used to collect A LOT of Justice League Unlimited figures, and over about 7 years, I literally made about 1000 customs. Since that line was a "budget" line, most of the bodies were one of about 5-7 variations and the only difference was the heads. So a few websites would sell casts of just the heads and then that evolved into people sculpting their own heads and then websites selling those. I also in the early 2000s (when war was "cool") was part of the GI Joe custom scene. I really don't like custom transformers because if you want to transform them, you risk chipping the paint.

but @mandaci i'm with the consensus and you really need to post in the appropriate places. Either radicons or the general discussion forum. I have a feeling you aren't trying to be malicious and you want to get a conversation going, but people on this board are pretty big sticklers for forum etiquette and we don't need someone starting a throng, a gaggle, a phalanx, or a shit ton of new threads just to get the conversation going. thats what mods are for and we are all really good about starting our own conversations in the right sub forums

It boggles my mind that a spammer (bot?) linking god knows what constantly in multiple threads isn't banned yet.

I don't think he is a spammer honestly. I just don't think he knows board etiquette and wants to get hits on his YouTube video. (the video is really weird and makes no point though)

I think I've figured it out. The audio from his weird videos contain whatever his topic is, except for an intro for a homemade superhero? And the video is just garbage filler.

I know I customise for several reasons.

To accommodate my compulsion to vehicle scale everything with the Diaclones. The popular trend of Deluxe and Legends cars and jets frustrates my compulsion so when I see what I consider a suitable mold for a character, I get to work.

Or recently the unreleased Actionmaster repaints inspired my Sprocket repaint of Triggerhappy using G1 Sprocket's head.

Sometimes I see a nice digibash online and give it a go.

It's a nice side hobby that encourages my creative side and relaxes me. I've been known to start some evenings at 7pm only to find it's suddenly 1am.

It's better than bemoaning missed repaint opportunities or feeling a character's not getting an update.
