No announced price, but the floor is probably $400 USD, like all the other finished figures announced thus far.

Licensing is never an issue with ko’s. Although maybe they couldn’t get it. But rather I don’t think the quality standard could be kept up.

Thank you for this pic. You can basically use this in any thread about an anime styled Transformer toy

Good idea! Like in the model kits. Or if they continue the Eva crossover.

Were the TMNT designed, in part, by the same people behind the Hulk?

    No.

Are the TMNT considered as a homage, or linked to, in any way, with the Hulk?

    - No.

Was Starsaber designed, in part, by the same people behind Gundam?

    - Yes.

Is Starsaber considered as a homage, or linked to, in any way, with Gundam?

    - Yes.

    Class dismissed.

As a person who does Gunpla myself, I would be annoyed to no end if I bought a MG Hi-Nu Gundam kit and accidentally received the Nu Gundam ver Ka instead. Even if I were undercharged for it. Even though the figures inhabit the same universe and share a design pedigree. They're not the same thing.

Perhaps I just exert an extra measure of discretion with my collection than you do.

But hey, you do you. It's clear from the responses you've gotten that no-one is buying your argument. No sense for me to waste any more time on it.

That's not true. The differences between different Gundam figures are irrelevant, as they are all Gundam. However, the similarities between a non-Gundam figure to a Gundam ARE relevant. Also, there have been those that have agreed with me. If you read all the comments/likes you could see that. Also, if you read all the comments (and I don't think you should have to though), you'd see that:

    - I like this figure.
    - I think it's too much money for something that doesn't transform.
    - As it doesn't transform, and is very similar to a Gundam, then this is ironic, and perhaps a distant character should have been chosen to avoid this.
    - Some people can't see the similarities, even though TFWiki goes into detail about this and WHY this may be so.
    - Some people here are seem rather defensive about this than they should be.

Unlike Gundams, Transformers have actual personalities and are characters, I shouldn't have to point that out but there you go. People like Star Saber.

I editted Star Saber's page to include that info, and I made Okawara's article, he's really not that much like a Gundam.

Just because it looks like a Gundam aesthetically, doesn't mean it's literally designed with a Gundam look. If you were familiar with other mecha series you'd see that alot of them influenced this type of aesthetic, and this how they're usually stylized , and if you were familiar with Gundam, you'd know that they don't usually release mega-high end toys like this Star Saber anyway.

At this point you're not even talking about the toy itself really, just the decision making behind people buying it, which isn't constructive. People buy things cause they like them, it shouldn't be so important to you.

That toy of Destiny Gundam doesn't even use the original design, it's a stylized depiction of it, just like this Star Saber is a stylized depiction of IDW Star Saber.

The comparison to gundam models is a fair one, though keep in mind that the majority of gundam kits don't come with metal parts. Even when they do, it's usually much more expensive like their HIRM line. And don't forget the additional time+money investment to fully detail and paint the kits.

The closest comparison would be the gundam metal build series, which are fully assembled and painted figures that command a much higher price, almost comparable to what a flame toys figure costs. Take the latest MB Aile strike that just got released, a 1/100 scale figure that is going for upwards of $250 usd and climbing given that it's pretty much sold out on release.

I don’t have a problem with people saying it looks like a Gundam. It’s just gets repetitive when random people just pop into here to make the same observation/tired joke. That’s all.
