And switch the screws as well. I mean, use the original screws that the faceplates came with.

 

There shouldn't be any real issue. I wasn't worried about matching the screws to the faceplates or anything. Like anything with a screw just don't overtighten and you're golden.

 

Yep, gotta do this with some faceplates for sure. Some of them have longer screws than others.

Thanks for the tips, but my Dastard's faceplate simply will not unscrew, not even budging for the same itty bitty screwdriver that had made easy work of Head Repugnus and the Head Flywheels I'd practiced on. I almost suspect it's glued together. I'm not trying anything more invasive, a small cosmetic cheat is not worth risking damage.

 

Finally got mine. Such a neat little figure.

 

This is pretty much what I've got in mind if I manage to get the other two Monsterbots.

Incidentally, can someone please post a pic of TR Hot Rod with Deluxe Repugnus's new head? I'm curious to see how they'd look together.

Just got my Repugnus;


Now I have a new problem, one of my headmasters has a black screw and the other two are silver, now all three don't match. Yeah, first world problems.

 

I initially did not care to get this guy. I have doublecross but skipped Grotusque due to lack of interest in the trio as a whole. Now that I have repugnus in hand, I can't help but adore the litthe bugger. I guess I will have to track down Grotusque eventually... wink wink ollie's bargain outlet. Repugnus has such a wide varietype of display options.

He was an online only exclusive sold in a box with no discernible markings to tell the difference between it or Arcee. The likelihood of it showing up at any sort of brick and mortar store post toysrus isn’t very good

 

Haha, yeah not very likely. I'll put it this way, I didn't feel the need to get it at the original retail of 24.99? Let alone it's current mark up which I haven't even looked at. I won't actively look for grotusque, but if I come across a good deal, I might get him.
It is unlikely to find him, but my local ollie's has gotten other exclusives in the past.
I've also read that due to toys r us closings, ollies has purchased hasbro items at a discount that were meant to be for tru.

 

2 days before closing, my TRU had no less than 100 (Yes a hundred. at least 4 shelves with at least 30 per shelf) Grotusques at $12.50 a piece.

There's no way they sold through all of them in 2 days. They sat for 2 or 3 weeks before that. Those Grotusques had to go somewhere after that store closed. Why not Ollie's?

There also were reports on the sightings boards of several USA TRU stores absolutely stocked with Grotusques.

I think it's highly likely we'll see them at a discount retailer at some point.
