I’m guessing the show creators were kind enough to give him a different model. Or hasbro is being lazy again.

It’s not lazy, “it’s for kids!”

But kids also don’t like bad toys just as much as we don’t... so Cyberverse doesn’t really have any intended target audience at all in reality.

Cool. Thanks for at least not telling me to stop hating on this.

I like the colors, but the fact that Thundercracker doesn't have a different mold than Starscream like in the show, and the Starscream mold's lack of articulated knees kill it for me. I was really looking forward to the Seekers having unique molds, but I guess that was hoping for too much.

If the Cyberverse Warriors were at least like the RID15 ones, it’d be fine. But I just got the ultra Starscream and Grimlock and even the big ones don’t have knees. I hope this isn’t considered a new continuity family because I’m gonna have a hard time finding the right toys to put on my “Bee, Jazz, Starscream, Grimlock” display.

No you don't. I bought Starscream, and this mold is garbage. I haven't felt this ripped off about a transformers toy in a long time.

Yeah, and so far I think Skywarp won this deal. Heck, Skywarp is even better than Starscream somehow as he's lacking the tolerance problems Starscream had.

I’ve been watching Baltmatrix reviews on YouTube and there’s only two or three Cyberverse toys he does rate positively. Starscream is not one of them.

IIRC, it's supposed to be an "all continuity" where it's not directly any, but references all. So a new one overall, but with a lot of references to older stuff from all others.

A new one will likely come later. The first season batch of figure waves is going to be heavy on recolors for now. By season 2 though, we should see a jump in figure variety and accuracy hopefully. Or at least knees added back in. Mostly in warrior class is where the line renovations will happen. Scout and Ultimate are staying moderately as is.

This is planned as a multi-season toon, and they are likely going to do new molds for repeated characters later. Which is a technique to push new purchases of same characters. Like we've seen with generations.

That can pretty much be said of any TF series after G1... :lol

Well, those were more in name references. AEC didn't do that other than names. RiD2001 was random but moderately self-contained. Animated was all new interpretation with new story and hierarchy(which introduced the elite guard and re-did the ranks of Prime and Magnus). TF Prime and NuRiD were alternate movie universe.

Cyberverse is a bit more "flashback" based on old events with new spins. Mixing aligned with G1 and other random things. Kind of more like animated, but instead of being heavily origin it's more all the past already happened and explores bumblebee remembering it while modern adventures happen on earth. So not quite G1 to Beast Wars type, but sort of like that in a way. Except it's an expanded lore that's all previous stories thrown in a blender, with also some new stories thrown in.

Animated is the easiest comparison, but even that's not quite accurate. TBH, as visual motion mediums go, we haven't had a series like this in Transformers on TV. In comics a little bit, and other franchises have had stuff like this. Like He-Man 2k2 was to He-Man, or even TMNT various have been to each other. Except for BW/BM from G1, most series have been really self-contained to their own universe with fully new backstories entirely. We've never really had a straight up re-telling type series, which this one uses as a feature by flashbacks to create its history.
