Magnus bot mod is sweet! I can't understand why the RID mod for this? I can't stand the RID Mode!!!!! Again, its a crossover of Generations/RID mish-mash of parts!! Hasbro is running out of ideas with the Transformers line.

 

how is it running out of ideas? the last magnus was the same concept with a g1 influenced alt mode and and idw influenced bot mode. the rid01 alt mode is because hasbro knows people dont want just g1 so theyre attempting to reference multiple parts of the franchise for once. also you seem to be implying that regurgitating designs from 30 years ago isnt running out of ideas

 

Might have been better if they had made either an RID Magnus or a G1 though.
This kind of feels like the Jetfire /Skyfire thing where it's always some mishmash and never just either version of the character.
But I do think he looks great with the RID altmode.

Well, I did like two of his modes. So yeah, I wouldn't be too upset if the new Magnus could combine with a updated RID Optimus Prime to form a new version of Omega Prime.

 

WOW! Your smart! That's exactly what implying! People who grew up in 80's want modern or updated G1 style figures, not a hash of parts. Thats like crossing over Beast wars with Cybertron style figures. For some of "THESE" fans or collectors they just want something new no matter what it is or looks like.

 

so how is hasbro doing something different mean they are running out of ideas, but doing the same thing they've done before somehow a fresh idea? excuse the rudeness, afterall you were a jackass first, but that is the single most idiotic and counter intuitive thing ive read on these boards this week. i think you need to reexamine what it means for someone to be running out of ideas.

 

The real world is running out of different models of trucks. I'm sick of seeing the same ones day after day in traffic.
Not even ONE ever turn into killer robots from outer space or anything. Stupid traffic. Stupid real world. I hope all of reality changes to suit me asap , because I'm be damned if I'll change my outlook.

 

If that Hotshot head is intentional and the destiny of the mold then I a very happy UT fan right now and i always thought blue Hotshot should be folded into G1 somehow.

I don't think Hasbro will do an Armada Wheeljack, but if they do they'll probably just call him Armada Wheeljack, but what I'd want to see them do is make him from every future G1 Sideswipe mold, but name slap him with a different Autobot, progressively more absurd names every single time. Prowl, Nightbeat, Omega Supreme, Primus.

 

Siege version of God Optimus Magnus instead of God Fire Convoy, would definitely love to see this combine mode if ever there will be.

Just thinking if the first wave releases in time for Christmas, it will be the same hype as last year when the first POTP wave was relase before Christmas and it sold fast and high price on ebay.

 

Probably have been discussed but .. can chromia parts fit on novastar/moonracer torso to make her a combiner limb?

 

I don't think it'll be easy, from the Promo CG and photos from SDCC she seems very structurally changed, for instance it doesn't look like her torso flips forward for the head transformation just above the waist as Moonracer does which would make slapping a combiner peg on her back a quick way to naff up the head folding away.

 

I read somewhere a rumor about Cybertron prime as a Magnus repaint cause of the leg cannons, my question what about the wings and backpack cannons. Honestly because the armor looks to be peg on rather than an exosuit thing, id rather see an Omega Prime retool. Give us a normal Optimus unaromored figure, with Omega Prime armor.

 

That's the magic of a retool. New parts.
Plus the wings may come later with other artillery platform style bots like Cog.
That's not to say Galaxy Convoy will happen, or happen soon, but the part reuse potential is definitely there. Same as we don't know what WFC2, or 3 will have, or any store exclusives, holiday exclusives, or any future use of the mold.

So as cost cutting goes, really nothing is entirely off the table for a later reuse if it'll sell.

 

Looking at these, I don't know how they would do this....Maybe the guns are just a snarky reference. Either of these ideas would be vast remolds, I don't know how they would approach either.
