Got one off the Bay for $60 shipped. I know I'm taking a risk of getting s package of Ramen noodles or sea monkeys but this seller has 100% positive feedback and has made a ton of sales, so I'm pretty confident about not getting scammed.

I don't know if it is possible to swap out the hands? One end of the stem that goes into the forearm is ball-jointed, which is nice! The issues is that I am not sure if the other end of the stem is a mushroom peg that goes into the hand, or if the stem is mold to one part of the hand? Although I am curious to find out, I have not been motivated enough to explore and take mine apart. I'm okay with his hands the way they are. Galvatron was always an angry dude. So much so, that I imagine his always either clutching a fist or having his fingers slightly curled for being such an intense and merciless leader.

I hope for the best for you. :)  I got mine from Baba recently for $69 shipped. He's raised the price a bit since then. Great 3p MP Megatron. Mine is still standing on my home office desk keeping me company and telling me to work harder.

Thanks Sportimus. I got a shipping notice two hours after placing my order and paying. So either this seller is super mega legit, or I am going to receive my beads/sea monkeys/ramen noodles from China in world record time.

I've been on a bit of a headmasters kick lately, and I'm considering a Galvatron. Is this a good pick or are there any other G1 styled 3P figures I should look into first instead?

Tracking number showed zero movement after the initial acceptance. Disputed with PayPal and got my money back. Put the money towards Gabriel, who is awesome.

Tyrant is a solid MP. Fun transform. Good alt mode. Robot is well articulated and looks great. Solid production. Good stuff. I have Sovereign too and it's pretty, but Tyrant is the better MP figure imho.

Awesome, thanks! I might not have the money to spare, but if I do, this'll be the one I look into first.

    I agree.

Ft's might be slightly more accurate, but in person DX9's is imposing in a way Ft's just isn't (I have both also). If there is one thing Galvatron should be, it's scary.

Bummer about not getting your Tyrant, but agree on Gabriel.

I caved and bought Sovereign after having Tyrant since it was first released. Although I do think Sovereign is better, Tyrant is still a great toy and I couldn’t bring myself to unload him. I think that’s a pretty strong ringing endorsement of Tyrant on its own merit regardless of how it compares to Sovereign. He’s a damn good Galvatron that’s fun and easy to transform (although tucking the head into the torso confuses me every single time).

for me, Tyrant is my G1 Season 3 leader + His face is perfect and I actually don't mind the feet - I never really stare at them long enough to be bothered by them. As for the tacks not being on the arms, it's s minor issue - Plus the cannon is excellent and I love getting 2 options.

So I just dropped some cash on this guy! He looks impressive enough, now I'm just crossing my fingers that there aren't many QC issues. Are there other hands for this guy by any chance? I know a complaint was the hands - the way the fingers just kinda curl. Thanks for any advice or input. :)

unfortunately even if you put on better hands they likely wouldnt fit in alt mode, they fold in pretty precise into the forarms

Don't let that put you off though, he is a brilliant figure. Fanstoys wins in bot mode for his action figure'esque looking presentation but over all DX9 is a better product. FT isn't nice to transform, the alt mode is sub par and the face sculpt is average and all 3 of those points DX9 excels at.

FT is on my shelf in bot mode and DX9 in alt but if I had to keep only one it would be DX9.

Still one of my fav figs, I still can't figure out why people think this is not the superior Galvatron.

I still think this guy looks better than Sovereign in bot and alt mode. Damn those fingers, my only minor gripe

I've had mine for two years now and the only QC issue I had was the hip packs were on the wrong ball socket. Switched them, and there hasn't been a problem since.

Because aesthetic preferences are subjective. In my book Tyrant is better in ALT mode and FansToys Sovereign is better in bot mode for instance. I can nitpick things about both figures- ultimately, I had Tyrant and then got Sovereign. I sold Tyrant soon after because I prefer Sovereign. But that doesn't mean one is actually "better" than the other.

Yeah I remember when he first came out they realized they did them backwards. Mine was the same but at least it was 10 second fix to pop them off and swap them around :)

Still have mine in alt mode on my shelf.
