I guess the fact he seems cheap now just goes to show how much prices have increased over the past 2 years. I mean is Megatron really going to be worth almost 3 times as much?

Depends on the person I guess. For me, MP-39 is worth twice MP-12, in terms of articulation, fun and a premium feel. Think it's hard to truly judge unless you actually spend the money to get them in hand. The good thing about these MPs is they retain their resale value pretty well, particularly the BW ones.

I don't own either of those as neither character holds much allure to me, I do however own MP-17 from that period and I still feel he's one of the best figures they've done so far. Where as a more recent offering such as MP-36 has left me wanting. I personally do not value (excessive) articulation and cartoon accuracy (within G1) as much as TT seem to these days, and do not welcome the byproducts of that effort (an abundance of panels, voids and gaps, unpleasant transformations, inflated price tag etc etc). I'd rather have something beautiful and affordable that might not be able to get it's leg behind it's neck but can be put in some pretty awesome poses none the less.

That's fair. I'd rather have the amazing articulation and true-to-toon we've been getting, guess I'm lucky that that's where the line has arrived at :thumb

Um wow, did this just increased in price at BBTS??? It's 124.00 now - I could've sworn it was $119.00 just a few days ago.

When I saw it earlier in the week it was $124. IIRC, the 119 was for the original run

Coin images for the July Optimus Primal Hasbro Asia reissue.

No Long Life Design logo on the box, though I imagine the reissue next February will get one, as Dinobot's box has one:

Good for those who wanted an Optimus Primal coin :thumb

Should a completist pick this up? I bought the original release, but is anything going to be changed including the box? Because I can just buy the coin separately, but if there’s some printing differences on the box I may want to consider picking another one up

What are your collection crtieria exactly? Being a completist in the sense that you pick up every MP variant is a little absurd/ overkill since there are myriad reissues and hasbro vs takara, etc. My guess is there will be a different ?batch number on the box at the very least

I don’t really have a criteria I guess... I guess you’re right. I’m not going to buy every variant unless it’s substantially different I guess. Like I’m not going to get the Hasbro Asia release (unless is that what this is?)... probably should just stick with the one I have and get the coin separately

How they can cover Primal's beast mode almost completely clean while they haven't managed to cover Dinobot's exposed robot kibbles in Raptor mode? Is Dinobot really that complex transformation?

I would put Animated at the bottom tbh, but that’s because I can't stand the cartoony look of the show, it's too childish for me...
