Yeah, MI is Paramount's Cash Cow. Better than Transformers in some ways. I agree that Cruise's movies are getting better by age. Minority Report have generated some topics. That film even influences the hit anime Psycho-Pass. I enjoyed his take on Edge Of Tomorrow. I haven't watched Oblivion. I haven't finished American Made but i'm impressed from the get go. Jack Reacher, I enjoyed both. But I think the 1st one is better. Mummy? I was thinking twice. Is it good? They said it bombs at the box office. In MI films, I like the 1st one. very classy (I flipped that Jim Phelps was the traitor) : 2nd one is all about action scenes and artistic shots (seeing Hopkins is a treat). 3rd is kinda predictable & average, WTF is rabbit's foot anyway? But kudos acting to Hoffman. 4th one is an improvement from 3rd. But I don't like the villain is a two-man team : Rouge Nation was a blast for me. I hope this 6th one tops or equals the success of the 5th. We know and are aware of the typical tropes of an action spy film but for some reason we're keep coming back watching Mission Impossible.
Oblivion was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. It was super imaginative. Plus it has Morgan Freeman. His Mummy my have bombed, but he was fantastic in it. And, I've had loads of fun with the MI series too. Great stuff. American Made was great as well.
This thing is getting insanely great reviews. Forget "best action movie of the year"... seen more than one review calling it the best action movie EVER.
IGN posted their reviews in Youtube but I haven't watch that. I still need to see the film first. It's gonna be shown here in our country around next so.. Let's put SPOILER TAGS for those able to watch the movie. BTW, the Rotten Tomatoes score is... 95%
Glad to hear it's apparently so badass, and I'm particularly happy for Henry Cavill finally being in a movie that's good AND will be seen by more than a dozen people.
^ That is just fucking NUTS. So cool, but nuts. Mainly because everything he's doing in real life doesn't actually NEED to be done in real life anymore, haha. We've known Cruise is a bit of a thrill junkie for years now, but wow, this is really taking things to another level. I'm glad the studio is going to such lengths to show everyone how real this all really is.
"Awesometacular" "A" Rotten Tomates Rating: 98% - "Fast, sleek, and fun, Mission: Impossible - Fallout lives up to the "impossible" part of its name by setting yet another high mark for insane set pieces in a franchise full of them." Metacritic Score: 86 out of 100
I don't normally see movies opening weekend unless they are comic book movies. I'll be seeing this one though.
there's no fucking way this franchise can be this consistently good, but holy shit it is. that shot of Tom watching the sky at the end, goddamn. I can't express in words my disappointment that Henry Cavill's arms didn't actually make "*gun loading*" sounds as he pumped them to fight. How dare the sound editors turn down the sound of Henry Cavill pumping his arms. Then the fight cranked up from 11 to 12. the choreography in that fight sequence was pretty great. Really that's what I liked most, how well structured and choreographed everything is with the film, second to the sound design. I love it when editors just sit back and say "we're not gonna have music play, it's only the sounds of bones breaking and engines gunning." Especially the helicopter sequence! It is a visual spectacle, well paced, builds tension well, overall one of the better action films this year.
I've never seen a Mission Impossible movie before but the imax preview sold me on that. Definitely gonna catch this tomorrow.
Just watched this movie yesterday. It's a pretty good summer blockbuster action movie, with the good stunts and action scenes been the highlights of the movie.
Oh, Yes - Mission: Impossible - Fallout Sets Up the Sequel With this in mind, one more to close it off?
Hate to say it, but this might be it. In a recent report the studio claimed that almost $70M was paid out by insurance because Cruise broke his ankle which delayed filming for eight weeks. There's no way they will ever let Cruise be this fucking mental ever again. So thanks Tom. That motorcycle chase through Paris was fucking insane. I don't know what drives you to this insanity but thank you.
hey, is Mission Impossible 2's opening scene the greatest piece of foreshadowing in film history? Spoiler Who knew Ethan's rock climbing skills would eventually pay off.
that IMMEDIATELY came to mind when I was watching it! I was really hoping that Spoiler Walker being a bad guy was some misdirection, because they've been telegraphing that shit from the very first trailer. But sadly, nope.
