Indeed. It's a shame they were so underused in the films. Not surprising, given Bay reportedly *hated* the idea of Dinobots way back when asked about it in ROTF... but nevertheless... They threw the dinobots into AOE just for the title's sake, but they did very little... and in TLK, they were a cameo, at best.

 

Agreed they should've been the focus of the movie. That's unsurprising he also apperently hated the idea of female robots too hence only breifly getting horendous-looking "Arcee-twins"(despite there being 3 of them...) in RotF. To be fair I hate the idea of Michael Bay so...

 

Eh..I thought in that particular scene in ROTF, Lennox was calling out Arcee & the two idiotic car twins (Mudflap/Skids)?

Correct. It was a really poorly delivered line, but Lennox was saying "Arcee, Twins!", not "Arcee Twins!".

I loved their designs and the idea of there being one mind in three bodies, but they were another wasted bayverse opportunity. If it were up to me I would have cut the twins and had the Arcees go on the journey with Sam and Bee and Mikaela so we could have gotten to know them better. Plus Mikaela could have gotten a robot buddy (or three)!

Oh, and also cut out the fallen and have the end fight be OP vs megs with the rest of the autobots/military fighting devastator. Oh and cut out pretenders and wheelie. There was so much thrown into that movie I even forget what I would have cut!

Same here. If they had pegged together I wouldn't have been so bothered by the tail.

TRUUUE! And this problem borthers me! Hasbro might do very little to make him perfect, absolutely screen accurate! Because basic Grimlock color is BRONZE, not grey! Instead they put amazing dry brushing everywhere (when green patina is only on his back actually) and to make him bronze you need to destroy it!

 

In AOE Dinobots were unforgettable and these scenes with them are one of the most incredible and powerfull in the series! I even jumped out from my seat in the theater in certain moment, when watched Wulong valley battle! I would never say, that Dinobots did little. I adore them all! I even visited Wulong valley in 2015 (I have a thread here about that), because I love this Moment so much! Dinobots greatly expanded Movieverse - they are almost beast-formers with different type of transformation. They are mysterious "hyperborean" barbarians from the past, connected with Creators possibly. In TF history we never saw anything similar.

TF5 threw away the whole AOE and a lot of other things from previous Movies, including even TF1! In fact it made all 4 Movies senseless and unneeded, because it tries to rewrite the whole Movie timeline, you know. I doubt, that Michael Bay had reasons for it. AOE was a great, so creative Movie, had better critics response and made a lot of money. I have saved several great articles about it. But Hasbro had some reasons to change everything - no Megatron, Movies became too adult-oriented and dark, Creators were going to become the big enemy and they are organic... Too far from classic concept. That's why TF5 drastically changes, to be similar to Aligned continuity. And now Bumblebee is similar to G1. Hasbro takes the control and they don't need our favorite Movieverse in its dark and serious form. Sady, because people need.

I don’t think it was explicitly posted in the thread, but IIRC DNA posted on Facebook that this would be delayed until August.

 

This --^ DNA said that their set is delayed because they are working on getting the color match just right. I figured that aspect was going to be difficult. The OG color mimicking aged metal can't be an easy one to nail and since this whole set relies on that aspect they can't shirk it.

i think they are stretching themselves too thin they have dk06 and dk08 listed for august dk07 for sept and dk09 for October

That has been my concern as well. I do hope it ships soon but I would rather have to wait until September then have it rushed and be poor quality.

realistically i think dk06 at the end of august dk08 at the end of september dk07 at the end of october and dk09 at the end of november
