It's not my idea but I'm running with it anyway and ordered an AOE Lockdown with saggy knobs from eBay specifically for the project.

 

I just got Lockdown today as a end of workweek treat. Big improvement over the TF4 Gremlin hahahaha! Very nice sculpt! But yeah the functionality is hampered by the sculpting itself that posing is a bit challenging but he does look the part as you expect of a very good Lockdown toy. I like this better than the 3rd party effort too.

And the Aventador mode looks very nice! In my view I think the Shadow Striker may be a pass to me despite it having that spark extractor thing and the head witht he visor... To me if you mount Lockdown's sword on his left forearm it visually looks like a passable blaster.

 

What scale is SS Lockdown in terms of model cars? I want to see the lambo shield and tail light details, so I wonder if there are decals for the car mode.

 

Wanna share the 3D printed Spark extractor I just did. Printed in Shapeways Fine Detail Plastic resin and airbrushed with primer, black with silver mix, and touched up the fluorescent green.

 

All that matters is how he scales with studio series prime.

Which is ridiculous since he never faced off with that version of Prime. Who himself is a mess of scale.

 

That prime seems to have good scale with the other Autobots and aoe prime shouldn't be too different in size.

 

You haven't seen him next to ironhide have you?

 

...side note: what does Lockdown do with the sparks he extracts? I've only now realized the movie isn't very clear on that. Does he eat them to gain the courage?

Just one of the many things that could have potentially led to an interesting storyline that just got dropped. I swear the story of these movies is like going through a meat grinder!

 

randomly found one, so i bought it. kinda unimpressed. he's not terrible, car mode is gorgeous and robot mode is really fuckin well sculpted, but he just feels kinda messy.

 

Yeesh. That's how I feel about each movie: lots of ideas haphazardly stuck together. It's one of the reasons why, if you watch the movies but fast forward over the human parts, the movies are slightly better.

Oh well. RIP Ratchet, no one liked you anyway lol I'M KIDDING calm down guys. So, because of that amazing 3D gun, we can now have SS Lockdown with his spark extractor in addition to his hook and sword. All's that is left is the sniper-face-rifle and... A rifle? Didn't his hand transform into a sort of assault rifle at some point?

 

That's definitely some top-tier modeling, but sadly it looks like you made the same mistake as Hasbro and based it off the concept art instead of the on-screen spark extractor...




Still, looks better than the one Hasbro did, anyway.  

EDIT: Also, nice work on that hook and dagger too! The sculpting is definitely superior on yours!  

 

I showed dotm to my parents (who have no interest in TFs aside from watching me grow up with them) and I "edited" it down by fast forwarding and they liked it a lot! I got it down to about 75 minutes haha
