It was definitely hit or miss depending on region. I was in both the Washington DC and Dayton, OH areas in 2012 and only saw three total, ever.

Saw Soundwave once, and SS once as well.

 

Never had a problem finding them. Even more so after the price increase. Being persistent was the problem.

 

What an Ahole. I hope Hasbro floods the market with these so scalpers are stuck with a bunch of these that they can't flip. Where there limits on how many one could buy when they were available online yesterday?

 

Are you talking about Prime or the other 2? If it's the latter, that is patently false. Short of taking off time from work and stalking multiple TRUs on delivery days, they were quite difficulty to obtain. And the online orders were only available for 1-2 short (1 hour or less) periods of time

 

What other two? He was harder to find after the price increase.

Soundwave and Starscream

 

I like how the ebay listing says sold out when they are just the online preorders and they have yet to hit B&M stores yet

 

Employees and scalpers made it hard to find Soundwave. Ebay pages of entire closets stuffed with MP13 for $250. I have the Takara so, I really didnt care.

Starscream sat on TRU's Ebay for $50 for a good couple of weeks.

 

Minibots are up there too for twice the price. These are some hot items, gonna be tough to get em for a good price. Especislly Devastator. 1st North American release in 35 years in the gift set box. Good luck keeping that on the shelves lol

 

My local TRUs never carried MPs either. My friend, who worked at one of them, gave me Soundwave for Christmas that year. But his store only got a single case of two.

I really hate it when people pretend like everybody can just stroll in every Sunday afternoon for a month and pick up a hundred of these each time.

If I wanted a TRU exclusive, I had to order it online. Every. Single. Time. And even then, they'd mark stuff as sold out even if it wasn't, as the torrent of "sold out" exclusives pouring out of the warehouses during liquidation proved.

Never bothered with this. One, I already had the Takara. Two, I knew how TRU operated (eBay sales don't mean anything - they sold, cancelled, and relisted MP-10 constantly). Three, the board was full of complaints about sprue marks.

 

You think anyone would pay that?

 

Good luck. I had people throw fits at me charging half that for the Encore release.

 

This is where I hope Walmart doesn’t screw this up. These will be the items they will under order.

Nope. Which is what makes them impossible to find. They sit up for sale for ludicrous prices instead of someome actually owning it to enjoy it.

 

I really only want Bumblebee, since he's my favorite character. I missed out on him when he was available on Walmart.com, hopefully I'm able to get him!
