Is it? Because Toy Dojo has cheaper shipping.

So happy to have the team back together again.

Toy Dojo is down in Texas and Mega is in Utah. Obviously go for the cheapest considering Canada Post is slow AF when sending things to the US, so I imagine the same going the opposite way. I get things faster from China than Canada.

Nothing. It’s as integral to his design as is your spine, so the smiley face will persist until someone makes a replacement part. Even if someone does make the tips fold in, they will be at an upward and outward angle, probably making it an even happier smile. Thankfully for me, it’s not as distracting in person, especially if you do not flip out his silver shoulder disc brakes.

Painting the bumper black would probably go a very long way to making it look better. The ends folding up and backward at an angle alongside the chest wheels would also, probably, make it look better. Someone more skilled than we less skillful people should try this!

The first transformation, coupled with the (at first glance) not so great instructions, is a pain. Especially when he is so tight to plug in and unplug.

He's still just globs of paint taped together, though. Screw you, Hasblo and Suckara Blowme.

Once you give it another go and take your time, the instructions are a lot better than you'd think and he's probably the best Studio Series figure, in terms of smooth transformations, thus far.

It's easy enough to master, but enough steps to make it feel like an accomplishment.

And much like all of the other SS figures, no clue as to why it took 11 years to get this figure and get it right. When you see how simplistic he is (especially compared to movie figures of the past) it's like "Really? Why?" That said, the simplicity is a positive, not a negative. The amount of detail is incredible for his size and he really does look like he walked off the screen. He's honestly an excellent figure and the best movie Ironhide ever.

Hmm... Maybe I'll just paint the top black since it faces forward in bot mode and then the truck can retain it's attractive grey bumper look.

My SS Ironhide from Megalopolis also showed up. I think I found myself a new go-to retailer.

Just another example of how awesome the guys over at megalopolis are, I placed an order this morning for a marvel figure and the person packing the shipment personally emailed me to let me know it was all packed up and being picked up for shipping. He also attached pics of the actual toy I bought and how he packed it.

Hard to say how accurate it is length wise, but the height certainly feels right.

Takara MB-01. It costs a small fortune these days but was worth it to me to have my movie Optimus slot permanently solidified with minimal painting left for me to do. It doesn’t hurt that I’m an old geewuner. Pretty sure they will release some tweaked version of this mold in the SS line considering how perfectly it fits.

So I was told that the collector store in the next town will have Studio Series Ironhide in stock next week. Wonder if I should pick up an extra for someone.

Then get the masterpiece. As someone who was in a similar position not long ago, always get the masterpiece. Or, if you can’t afford it, wait and get the KO masterpiece
