Almost sure they did, I don't think the 4H are sculpting all the Multiverse sculpts and mold reuse seems to be more rampant now. The 4H's sculpting on Mystic Legions blow these Multiverse figures away and the drastic difference between those 2 lines gives me the feeling that these Multiverse figures are designed in-house by Mattel.
Yeah several of the sculpts seem, I’m not sure what the right term is, softer? With the 4H sculpts everything seemed more chiseled, plus the heads more defined.
Yea honestly these look like 6" upscale versions of the D.C. Infinite Heroes 3.75" line from 2008, remember those? When they incorporated ball jointed hips, they didn't look far off from what we are now seeing on the new Multiverse figures.
Personally, I like the new hips on the DC Multiverse figures. Yes, there's some small refinements that could be done, but it's not that bad. Superman's head looks fine to me. Wally's head does look a little off, though. Mainly his face, to me. Looks kinda cartoony.
I think Kingdom Come Superman needs to have a bit wider body or waist. I don't know.. But it's kinda seems off to me.
It's the waist/hips, they are disproportionately small compared to the rest of the body. That's why I brought up the DCIH 3.75 comparison earlier because they look similar(when DCIH incorporated ball jointed hips).
Starfire looks good. Not really the Starfire I wanted and going to be impossible to ever get between distribution and QC but the sample on display looks good. I still wish Mattel would do a Brave and the Bold version of Aquaman. They've done so many of what is otherwise a joke character lately. Why can't they do the one version that was cool without being cereally grimdark?
Okay I need that Dark Knight Joker. It seems DC is stepping up their game I can barely see a figure I don't want to get it its scary.
At $30? While Marvel Legends is at $20 with added accessories. Oh Mattel..... One of the reasons why some guys are choosy getting Multiverse is because of the price. Mattel Asia is passing a high cost to local distributors. Of course our local distributor will increase the SRP so that they could recover from the amount Mattel Asia passed it to them.
Yup... The new hips work for some of the smaller characters, but they're an eyesore on Superman. Especially now that they're trying to put the red briefs on him. I'm glad they did Rebirth Batman with the older hips.
Yeah, the tiny ass legs on Rebirth Superman ruined the whole figure. They will keep on doing it, though.
Sensational. Long have two particular characters eluded me; Aquaman and Wonder Woman. There have recently been no shortage of figures of them, but they are all either Mattel's lackluster showings or expensive imports. I still may get a Mafex or Figuart of Gal Gadot some day if I have the expendable income for it, but this ticks so many of my boxes. It even had the New 52 silver accents that I was looking for.
I just don't get Mattel. There's absolutely no love going into those figures. I finally saw TDKR Diana at a Target on vacation yesterday. Just kept on walking.
I really don't understand why Mattel can't do themed waves, unless it's the foot-dragging that's seeing maybe two waves hit per year.
