Read an interview with the director earlier and he confirmed that it IS Blitzwing and he ISN’T a triple changer.

For me, personally, I just do not like the Baybot aesthetic one little bit so I don’t really care too much who is supposed to be who because, 9 times out of 10, I genuinely cannot tell anyway.

I think Prime, Shockwave and Bumblebee are the only ones I ever looked at and ‘got’ straight away, and even then I can’t say as I like their designs at all.

I like what they’ve done with the VW Bee look, but of the reveals seen so far, that’s about all, and it’s mainly only in context.

Well the ultimate in Optimus original designs has to be the original Optimus Primal. Yes, obviously he became a separate character but when he was first designed it was to be a future form of Prime.

But here’s the thing. The two most divergent designs - Armada and Beast Wars - come at times of profound change and upheaval of the brand overall. We’re at a similar point now, with the movies, cartoons, comics and toylines all getting fresh starts... and yet the new Optimus design is immensely conservative and familiar.

Makes me wonder. The last time Hasbro tried to reinvigorate the brand while barely changing anything was G2, and that was a disaster...

I feel quite lukewarm about the first waves of WFC toys (and my wallet is relieved!). CHUG toys are the majority of my ever-shrinking collection, so I feel like I’ve already got good representations of most of these characters.

I’m not really interested in the Battlemasters or Weaponisers.
The Micromasters look neat, but are so slavish to the originals that they aren’t grabbing me in the same way that Armada minicons did. And apart from the military guys, I think the combined weapons look pretty lame.

Some of the Deluxes look good (at last a decent Ironhide!) but I don’t like the techy detailing on Chromia (plus I’m holding out for CW-compatible fembots to complete the Elita combiner).
Will pick up any characters from the fan vote poll that haven’t had decent CHUG toys (Impactor, Spinister) or others that outdo their CHUG versions (Tracks!?).

Prime = meh, I like Classics better. Ultra Magnus looks great, love the RiD homage but also happy with my CW version.

I’m sad to see the end of Prime Wars Legends class, but also glad they have t haven’t announced any of the same characters as the Legends-class toys I’ve been designing...

    @Convoy

Sorry, I probably worded that quite badly. It’s a Bayverse prequel; what I meant was that without his involvement it looks like it might be a coherent Transformers movie!

Absolutely no front whatsoever, totally blubbed hugging it out with his Mum.
    Probably better for it though.

If he is still available at the end of next week I might be very interested...I do want that figure but I was thinking of getting an Evila Star to go with my Chigurh....If you still have him next weekend I will make a decision then.

haha, maybe I can treat it as a stand alone movie. It'll be the first Live action I go to see since the first.

Also, can convince the missus to come using One hit wonder Hailee Steinfeld. And by One Hit I'm referring to both her role in True Grit and 2016 tween pop smash 'Starving' (AKA theme tune to @tikgnat 's Isabela Moner dream)

Oh, just a personal project, have got some ideas for Legends class figures of a few late 80s G1 characters. I’m a product designer with access to a 3D printer so I’d like to make some prototypes. Will be sure to make a Radicons thread once I’ve got something to share!

Tom Scioli is doing a Go-Bots comic. My pleasure zone is starting to warm.

In other (far less traumatic) news Custom pipes might be looking at retirement!

Yes, he doesn't have the alternate cab transformation but his own noggin and chest is more than Hasbro did!

Sound logic... providing you're of the opinion that white males are the only reasonable appointment on merit? My daughter's world was set alight by seeing a female Jedi kicking ass, and seeing a female Doctor regenerate in the TARDIS. Her mate (from a Caribbean family) is now the biggest Marvel fangirl in the world following Black Panther. Wanna come explain to them how diverse representation adds no value? That women and people of colour exist and are at times permitted to grace the silver screen surely does not qualify as a "ramming" of a belief down one's throat, no? It's pretty easy to bemoan diversity when you're a white male. (apologies if you're not a white male - I don't know you outside of here dude... but I guess I'd bet, ohhh, a million pounds that you are?)

Honestly, in my experience the term 'virtue signalling' is a big red flag for people who lack decency and are confused when decisions are made in an interest other than the self.

It went better than my worst expectations, her steadfastness and loving welcoming set me off the most I think. Northern mums're made of sterner stuff.

@bcm77 The least I could do.

Anyway not to keep bringing the thread down. Seeing as you've de-combinered Chromia, Hasbro, I demand a pair of Aerial alt mode Galstalt Lib Lassies, now get to it! chop, chop!

For the sake of clarity here, in case it’s been misconstrued, I wasn’t calling Mr Vandelay out in any way (and if you felt that was the case, AV, I apologise).

But there's no need for personal attacks. I always thought that agreeing to disagree was the way of the UK thread?
