How did the price change?

 

Nice. Swerve yoinked. Honestly, as strange as it may sound, 99% of why I want one or two of these is just to have some unopened G1 style box and/or card goodness to look at in my room lol. Adds to the ambiance. I so loved the G1 packaging. Wish modern TFs would go back to it, honestly. Or sell special editions featuring it.

 

Yea, I already have the encore set that has all of these in it, and I think Swerve and (maybe) Tailgate and Outback are the only three minibots that I haven't bothered tracking down actual vintage versions of, but damn it, I want all of these. I really need to finish cataloging stuff that isn't on display in the next month.

 

Random thought: how great would it be if these came with reprints of the old checkbox catalogs?   (Or a preview of future reissues planned, with the same style of booklet.) Won't happen but I can dream.

 

What were they thinking with that Starscream? Pointless.

 

The missiles really kill it for me, but the gun, fact that he is a core character, and that he hasn't been released since (I think) early encore (I think they did a second run) makes it worthwhile. I considered getting one, but have a commemorative, encore, and finally got a minty OG one last year, and with the two dino cassette packs (with bumblebee accessory), Predaking, other G1 re-issues, punch/counterpunch (gotta have two), blast-off, nemesis prime, Repugnus, etc, etc all dropping in a short period of time, choices had to be made. Lot of people have joined the hobby since his last release, and hopefully success leads to future releases.

Plus, G1 boxes.

 

What are the 17 accessories?

 

I only started collecting around 2012, ao I missed the earlier G1 reissues. I imagine many who joined around that time (when the MP line was gaining steam) would be interested in it as well

I got Swerve...YES!!! I suspect the reason we are getting free shipping on him if ordered alone is Walmart will combine it with the others, if you had ordered Starscream, other minibots, and/or Devastator. Just my guess. Normally from what I've seen, its pay shipping or pick up, later being the only free part.

Now, just need Hot Rod.

 

I never even knew these went up. Last time I checked the Hot Rod and Starscream listing, they weren't even available. Now they all say sold out. Hopefully these will be easy to find in a store or they come back up for order. If nothing else, Wal-Mart loves money. So hopefully these record sell out times will get them to order another run from Hasbro.

 

Just woke up...did Hot Rod go up during the night or not?

Also, I had a thought about the Devastator set. I wonder how many asshats are going to buy the Devastator gift set, take it home and do a figure swap, replacing the legit Constructicons and accessories with those KO Constructicons that used to come in the Easter baskets and were sold at Big Lots for $5, and return it to get their money back?

If people will swap out parts on a $20 Marvel Legends figure, they'll sure as heck do it with something like this.

Not that I'm aware of.

And I doubt collectors are going to order these online during such a small window and swap out the toys just to return them. Besides, the box is a big part of the draw on these releases.

 

Oh, I meant when they actually hit brick and mortar stores.

I can see someone buying three or four Devastators, keeping one for themselves intact, but swapping out the figures on the others and returning them for their money back.

Especially with Walmart's less-than-strict return/exchange policy.

As far as I know, all but Hot Rod has gone up. Hot Rod has been OOS since it was actively listed this week. The minibots all had "not available." None of it makes sense as to why these were rolled out the way they did it. My only concern, now with TRU gone, I hope this isn't what we'll expect with other exclusives.

Apparently, if you go to Canada, they are already on store shelves or at least one anyway. I know in the US, its just a matter of finding the right store that carries all the figures. I can go to another state and its like I jumped back 5 years on the toy inventory. Others, barely have much so I'm not so hopeful.

 

I suspect these will not be well available at all stores or will be picked clean on regular basis.

I still can't get over the Alternators Rumble and Ravage. Looked at every Wally within a 15 mile radius. I live in a largest major city in the state by the way. I just happened to stop at one that was about a hour away and they had a full stock (3-4 each) on an end cap on clearance none the less. Those Marvel Legends Thanos exclusive to Wally. Never knew they were out. Same story.

 

Special request. If anyone finds these reissues fully stocked on a shelf, probably a stretch to ask, take a picture of them for nostalgic reasons and post it.

Sadly my Walmart had not stocked them. I don't know when the next reset is.

 

My local Walmart is stripping the floors and they keep alternating between which side of the store they cordoning off. I don’t think I’m going to find these at retail. :/

 

Still a little butthurt I missed Devy and Bee, but hopefully Walmart does another run of preorders or stocks them soon. I have like 5 or 6 Walmarts in the area, so I'm not super worried about availability once they release. I just want Devastator preordered really.
