Me too, famstoys seems to be slumping a bit at this moment and it’s last several figures a bit less than uniformly acclaimed so I will wait a bit.

Same here. I prefer to preorder within 7 days of when it ships to retailers in Asia.

my 2 cents.. for that is what it is worth... No waist swivel, no sale.
Skyfire/Jetfire barely got a pass for all the untabbing, but frankly there isn't an excuse to not have a waist swivel with this release. I love me some FansToys but this isn't the first MP Cyclonus out and available. XTB did a fabulous job on theirs and it had a ratcheted waist swivel. A FT release must have full or equal competition release articulation.
IDW flavor and paint job a definite plus...

Personally I like to pre-pay on pre-orders when I can, so it's done and over with just in case I don't have funds when it's time for it to be released.

I totally understand the waiting though, especially with how long FT drags their feet most of the time. :lol

Not biased towards FansToys, but Eligos looks fat and out of place with Sovereign. Just my 2 cents.

You know, I thought that before I bought him, which is why I went back and forth. In hand he looks great next to both. I like that he's an imposing enforcer, as opposed to a skinny guy. He's supposed to be second only to Galvatron in the power stakes and was always drawn larger than him in the toon and pretty beefy in the movie. The only thing that is a bit off (to my eyes) are the chunky lower legs, but even those don't really bother me now. I just love how spot on they got the details, right down to the correct patterns on his wings in both modes (which FT have not). The only thing they didn't get exactly right was the white paint on the nose cone (as there should be two white sections instead of one), but I can let that pass because it's prone to flaking anyway. Again, FT's version doesn't have any white going by the pics I've seen thus far. Granted Eligos more accurate to the '86 movie than the series, but that's my preferred depiction and the only real reason I'm passing on Quietus. Both have their relative merits :thumb

I'd like to see Quietus and Eligos on a shelf side by side...

This has such beautiful, non-janky knees. Screw the waist swivel, I'll give that up for knees that don't come apart when you look at them funny.

This is my plan. I don't think there is anything particularly "wrong" with this Cyclonus, but he seems more comic book to me. He's a lot skinner, and not the enforcer feeling much like you stated. Eligos will be upfront, Quietus will be quietly in the back ;)

Probably will do the same with FT Sweeps once they are out.

Eligos, despite my love for him, looks cheap - somebody nicely summarized the plastic quality by comparing it to a shampoo bottle. It's fairly sturdy (apart from that cockpit tab), but it doesn't look, well, premium. His unpainted face was always one gripe I had, as was the lack of paint in general. Eligos' strong points are that he's really fun to pose. Although I intend on getting Quietus, I don't think I will be parting ways with Eligos.

Here's a few pictures of my Eligos with Sovereign. It's kinda funny, because XTB's Andras looks great with Sovereign.

I'm not preordering Quietus at all. Don't get me wrong, I desperately want this to be good. It looks great. But after FT's last couple of releases, especially Rouge, I need to see some reviews first.

I've had this preordered for a while, but I have been on the fence the last couple of days on if I should cancel my preorder.
Reason being is that when I examine the pictures of Quietus I don't see a waist swivel being possible. When I look at side shots I don't see how a waist swivel is possible due to all the folded up parts in the abdomen, and their is one piece that goes way below the waist.
Then when looking at all the pics where he is posed the waist is now swiveled its just straight.
I love how this thing looks, I love the paint, colors, targetmasters, and accessories, but dam the no waist swivel and Rouge being a dud in my book has me concerned.

But then when I look at their Hydra/Sixshot, how did that turn out so great/perfect. While this is so close to perfect but could have an imperfection that could make the figure a dud.

I have a similar situation. Ironically, I just checked, and it turned out that the preorder is already sold out at Kapow.

I look at it this way, when an official MP can't have a waist swivel (Ultra Magnus), I don't worry too much if a 3rd party figure doesn't end up having it.

Would I prefer waist articulation? Of course I would. But it just isn't in the cards for this guy, and is by no means a deal breaker for me.

If I waited for perfect figures to be made before buying something, my shelf would be completely empty right now...

Compared to the FT version, it kinda does.

This is the problem in the UK, there are so few stores carying these figures we don't have the luxury of waiting for reviews.

Well, this happened to me with Springer. I decided I want it when both TFS and Kapow were sold out. Lucily managed to snag a copy from Netclow
