Optimus was never infected with the Hate Plague.

 

I just preordered toy deco Megatron, I really like it. I don't yet own one. I may not Jump on this Prime just yet, I like the digibashes with the toy decos. Plus, that's what I remember as a kid. And basically you're getting toon and toy. I remember falling asleep many times with Megs in my hand.

Anyone know the release date for this guys? Buying the MP-10 at this point seems hopeless

 

Sometime in 2019, but they haven't announced it yet. Hell, they haven't even officially unveiled the figure to the public yet either.

A private "no cameras allowed" event, yes. That's why all the pics of the grey prototype look so shitty.

Supposedly the official mass reveal to the public is happening in August or September.

 

Does the figure king magazine count? And the dengki (I dunno how to spell it) hobby digital images?

 

As BrutiKing says, that seems public enough.

If you like MP-10, I don't think it's pointless trying to find one. I'm not sure if his value will ever go down all that much (look at how much early MPs sell for these days), but you might find some people who only want one Optimus in their collection, who prefer the new one and are looking to sell their MP-10.


If you want a great interpretation of Optimus Prime, combining elements from the G1 toy, cartoon, G1 and IDW comics, with a clean crisp look and nice accessories, MP-10 is fantastic. His transformation isn't too involved and he can pull off some pretty cool poses.

If you want super articulation, uncanny G1 toon likeness and probably a boat-load of accessories, then start saving up for V3

Sorry, I figured it was obvious that I meant in way of FULL reveal - color, multiple angles, showing off transformation, new features, official catalog number, etc. - rather than a region specific announcement saying more will be coming later.

@Killaforevah, it's safe to assume that Optimus Prime will either be a March or April release (could even be February), assuming we see a full colour reveal in August or September (Megatron was revealed in October and released in April).

 

Well, just saying “figure” is a bit vague, so it wasn’t obvious enough (for me and several others at least). Oh well, it’s just a slight misunderstanding.

 

Do we expect some more proto pics with this month’s mags or nothing until colored pics in a month or two?

 

It's almost August, so it's not out of the question that we could get some kind of spread this month, but it's just as likely that we'll have to wait until the last week of August - or even beyond. I imagine (hope, for their sake) that some of the TT staff are taking their holidays over the summer period, which could delay everything a little.
