I don't really consider this chug. I feel size varies in relation to this guy. To me it is masterpiece. I'm going to preorder it (when I can) and put it with the rest of my masterpiece bots. This is the best thing I've seen in a long time. Skylinx is a favorite character of mine who hasn't had a lot of love in my opinion. So, it's gonna be mine.

Plus, with the way the season three bots were, I can accept a slight change. As other masterpiece figures do not look exactly like their toon designs. This is probably as good as it's going to get unless gigapower comes up with something better. Either way, it's happening for me. Loving the way it looks, the way it scales, etc. Can't wait to press the button for a preorder!

That's the shot I needed as well and it unfortunately confirms my own personal feelings that this won't work for MY own MP collection. As always people are free to do what they want but for me...
It was hard to find a good side by side of Constructor (preferred MP scale combiner) and Feral Rex, but I tracked one down, and did some guesstimates of sizing. The stance of Rex in the Sky Lynx picture is kind of whacky, but roughly comparing sizes of different components, this below will give a reasonable ball park estimate of what MMC Sky Lynx will look like next to the MP Combiner scale that TW, XTB, DX9 and presumably FT are using.
    Feral, Sky linx, Constrcutor.jpg
It's easy to forget how small Feral Rex is next to modern day MP combiners. For me, Sky Lynx should look like a large predator like a lion or tiger next to a person. Instead, he looks like a medium dog.

It is a bit on the small side but it looks MP enough to me, it is not as highly detailed as the early Reformatted releases and not so blend like most of the recent toon style MPs.

Don't get me wrong, he looks amazing and in terms of style, colour and general finish he's totally worthy of MP.
But he's tiny. MP-10 could ride him around like a horsey.

For me TW is the closest we are going to get to "properly scaled" MP Combiners, so I'll use that as short hand. Obviously, what others consider proper scale is up to them.
Predaking is generally depicted as the same height as Devastator, if not slightly taller. Sky Linx leaping on a "properly scaled" MP Predaking will look like a labrador jumping up to lick someones chin, not a terrifying beast taking down his prey.

But, I think I've said enough and I should stop de-railing this thread for those who are into him. I'm kind of jealous of you all that you have an MP Sky Lynx for your collections!!

I can’t wait to put my Lambros on his back.

Scale only came into play here because the “chart crew” (nothing wrong with being in tha group) are upset this wasn’t made exclusively for them. It’s reformatted. They are always kind of in between Hasbro mainline scale and MP scale.

It looks good as hell and will play with all my Robots.

Whichever company made the MP Omega Supremes need to make their Sky Linx, and make them be able to connect.

Hm. I think your size comparison might be a little off. I'd say it's about 10-15% bigger than your diagram. I might be wrong but looking at the size of the foot guns, the one in the devastator pic looks bigger.

[Edit] Here's my revision of your image with my estimate of his size. Not a huge difference and still too small for those who want him to go toe to toe with a Toyworld scale combiner though I'd say he could give an 18" combiner a fight. Either way, I have no attachment to the episode where we fought Predaking. My Skylinx is the one who performed in the space circus with Optimus.

If the MP thing is still bugging you, just say this is the size he assumes so he can actually go inside the base, because he of all bots would refuse to chill outside.

Would he double in size to beat up TW Devy? Of course he would, but MMC opted to be merciful and not make each part 300+ a pop.

I don't understand MP collectors and the whole scale thing, besides simply scaling the figures I buy to the figures already in my collection. The cartoon was so inconsistent. I feel like I might get priced out on this set, but seeing him up against Feral Rex has the gears turning in my head trying to figure out how to afford him...it could happen.

I would imagine like $250, less then the cheapest Omega out there. It's not an entirely too complex design and I'm sure they could sell them as separate figures to lower the upfront cost if they want to.

I could be in on that price, but there are more than a few characters I feel like I need more than Sky Lynx in my collection. Then again, this design is fucking insane and I love MMC stuff, so I don't know if I can pass the pair up. I think this, their Dezaras, and the Ocular Max stuff are the first few MMC designs I've been stoked for in a while. With the releases of Carnifex, Tyrantron and Kultur all around the same time it kinda feels good for the wallet to be taking a break while they make Drifts and Kultur repaints.

The only thing about scale that matters to me is the prospect of having my POTP Leader Rodimus ride on his back into battle like the majestic steed he is.

I don't think I've seen their Dezaras, unless you mean the renders? But, yeah, I get that. I have no connection to Sky Lynx beyond his recent appearance in IDW's comics but he's always been one of my Grails. I just fucking love the Shuttle design and I love the unique "space dragon" weirdness that I need a really good version in my collection. Totally was not satisfied with the CW toy and that's pretty much the only thing we have to scratch that "itch" for me (other then always being tempted to get a reissue one, which always seems to be out of stock when I break down and try to order it, thank god lol).
I am glad last year and the beginning of this one has been mostly kind of boring. I had an accident last year so medical bills are keeping me from dipping into collection like I use to but I haven't really been tempted either, yet. lol

Well, if any company can hook me on a figure of a character I don't care about, it's MMC. Not that I dislike Sky Lynx, he just wasn't one of the characters that really stuck in my head.Tarn's story was mostly stupid (I mean, in my opinion), but his toy is glorious. If this set is as well-done as what I've come to expect from MMC, it'll be a purchase. Sorry to hear about the accident, though I think it's been a good break year for me as well. I used the time to pick up some older figures on the cheap...like Feral Rex! Not having multiple hundred dollar+ new releases of tier one characters has been nice on the wallet, heh.
