I detached in hollowed-out part of brawls turret at the thickest point. it Clips on to the back of one of his weapons really well in robot mode and clips back in Fairly securely when reattached. All in all I think it's a good alternative to it hanging down in robot mode.

 

Might have to do something like this when I get mine.   nicely done.
