I like the look of this a lot. It still doesn't have quite the same "mecha" feel to it that Steelcore, Revolver and Trianix Alpha have, but the prototype looks pretty nice, definitely better than the renders made it look.

 

Do we know anything about who designed this? When I first saw the renders I thought maybe a Cassy Sark piece but the resin reveals some details in line with the later LER bots (the hand, the thighs and their connectors to the crotch).

I'll admit, it's hardly what I was hoping to see from Fansproject but it does line up with the earlier Warbot releases in terms of those big hefty bots and it's great to see new designs again. Regardless of the final product, I'll probably still buy it -__-

 

Looking at the pictures some more, I'm getting kind of a "Diesel" vibe from it. Looks like he'd fit right in with the Intimidator team. Was the Warbot designer also the Causality designer or were they different people?

 

No, the Causality designer is the guy that went to MakeToys.

 

I like the look of this, but I feel he looks a bit too narrow/ too cramped in some places. If they could widen him up id like him a lot more, especially if his shoulders and hips were wider. Wish they could improve the face as well.

Head is just killing it for me, don't look like anything from the comics

I think for me, the head is like 70% of character

 

One of the staff at the table said he was taking feedback so a lot of us, including myself, said if he could be a little taller and if they could fix the head sculpt. Let's see if they listen .

 

GET THE COLOURS RIGHT. MMC has changed the colours for the final version of theirs and screwed the pooch with it.

 

The actual sculpt looks a lot better than the renders, really digging this guy. The MMC one looks alright but this one just looks way more fun, the accessories look great and are a nice touch. If I could I'd make him 1/2" to 1" taller but it's not a deal breaker. FP has me sold on this guy, bought on sight when preorders open.

On a side note I am absolutely ecstatic to hear that the Function X line is continuing, I'm dying to get Hardhead, Snap Dragon, and Apeface. If those sell well it would be awesome to get the junior Headmasters, a Function X style Minerva would be incredible!

 

It's damn close. Almost agree about the head..but mostly I think it's that the ab region is a little too short. Like his abs should be longer between the waist and chest. Might be my Roller purchase though..so far this and MMC are the closest I have seen.. maybe the only really? It will come down to size possibly for me.. is it a little talker than MP Prime like Roller? I would prefer that. MMC Roller is a good size. I am a fan of FP. l like this a lot..they are really making me feel like this is the one. Have to see it in hand. Very cool.

So it appears this is meant to scale more with the Thrilling 30 IDW stuff than 3P CHUG IDW. Is that right?

 

I believe so since it's in the Warbots line.

Me too. I've been holding off on the MMC one because I think this one looks more accurate.

 

Same. I like this one more plus I already own Tarn and Thunderclash.
