Yeah, I have patience with MMC. I appreciate that they take their time with stuff and also tend to at least try and make all of the repaints people want. I mean, look at the Calidus mold. Definitely the most attentive of the third parties.

Lastly, WhyTF would ANY 3P company acknowledge Takara exists??? Badcube, MMC, FT have blown Tak's original MP cars (& cassettes) out of the water.

 

I couldn't find it, but I feel like I've seen a mold released as an exclusive repaint before the main retail version hit before.

Because too many people will always feel Takara is better no matter what they do or how much better many 3P options are. There is also a separate group that is deeply invested in what Takara has released and do not want to make their collection not uniform and will not buy 3P figures that will not fit in.

 

I just love it when people come into a thread, and after deciding that the topic is about something they don't want/like, make a case that nobody should want/like it.  

 

For starters, someday I’d like to see a remix of MMC’s Kultur for the Lightning Strike Coalition, which would probably lean towards something similar to FansProject’s Severo Core, I.E. War Within Grimsy! ^.^

You don’t have to catch or collect them all, but it is nice to have the option.

I’d be more excited for the Dino Cassette ‘bots and ‘cons and Glit/SG Ravage, but the Diaclone set was close to a sale.

Similarly, I don’t have a particular love for Frenzy and Rumble, but I might get Enemy as a one off if he stays around for a while just to play with the mold... or Jaguar and Condor if they last for a bit.

Also, you could say that Soundwave and Micro Chamge’s Cassetteman are based on The Beastmaster, with his eagle, and tiger, and two ferrets.

To wit, I hope I still have a paper back of André Norton’s The Beast Master boxed up somewhere, too. I only started it a touch some years ago, but it’s scifi and not fantasy focusing on the Last Native American in the greater galactic community who serves as a psychic space sheriff with his psychic animals... which, yeah, that’s nothing like that ‘82 movie.

Soundwave is actually a microcassette deck, while MMC’s Cassettebots are full size audio cassettes.

Now, I’m not set on getting the THF Soundblaster unless there’s a light up head from Mo Del, or whatever they’re called.

But, since I haven’t purchase MP-13(B) or a KO, yet, I’m well open to the possibility of MMC doing a full sized cassette player Soundwave. Granted, though it doesn’t need to be a boom box that turns into a two foot tall Soundwave...  

I will admit that I maybe went too far in my desire to fudge some mass shifting...



But, I really do love both of these figures and it almost fits in that the figures are scaled to their real life proportions, with Ravage being probably a touch oversized compared to jaguars and leopards but could be closer to a lion or a tiger, then. Or, perhaps, Prehistoric Ravage!

True, but these con exclusives tend to sell out or be taken down pretty quickly on PSX, BBTS, and TCP fairly quickly, so gotta be keen and alert to purchase or not to purchase, and that is the internal battle we all face.

 

Your "rough" work proves that the mold definitely looks amazing in red, thanks for that. I have so many darkly colored Decepticons on my shelf that I'm now actively seeking out some brighter color schemes. It's been hard because most Cons have dark and spooky looks to em outside of the G2 stuff, a Deadpool-inspired Drift is just the right saturation of red to really pop in my display. Am I the only one who seeks out figures because of their color scheme?

 

Nah that seems fair. I mostly seek out characters to have even teams but colours is also a great reason. I won’t prioritise it but I’ll think about it sometimes.

 

Stealth Azalea showed up at the Singapore con a few years ago before the regular retail version shipped. But preorders for the regular Azalea had been going already for a while, and it shipped less than a month later, IIRC.

 

Damn, $150 on Ebay already! I hope Ages 3 & Up has some left to sell online after the con is over and "retail"  

 

I'm sure it will show up on PSX in like 1-2 weeks, then on TCP and BBTS in like 1-2 weeks after PSX.

 

Yeah, hoping either A3U and/or PSE will have both TFcon MMC cassette offerings post-con! F scalpers!
