Tarmogoyf used to be 150+, so yes he is very much affordable now after three reprints. Hollow One decks actually improve its playability so I don't agree with your synopsis of the meta. Increasing the rarity of certain highly desirable cards is standard practice that you should very familiar with. You want all value to crash out of the game? I can see the appeal from one angle, but the game will die if that happens. Prices spike after the first reprint of an important meta card because people want to complete their playsets. Further reprints after that tend to lower the price. I am psyched about the Legacy bans. Old decks can re-emerge.

    MTG, oh boy.

I was there at near the beginning, but fell out of it once my circle of teen friends changed, then around 2000, I moved and left all of my magic cards at my parents house and is still there to this day. I never picked it back up after the move. And before you ask, no, I had a small mundane, nothing special or rare in my deck, just enough to survive the countless games and I never got more cards, just the left overs from my friends to build a decent deck to play.

So I'm gonna bow out of this thread and collect the cards for collecting not playing.

I wonder if they aren't making the game different than Magic the Gathering to try to bring in new people that normally wouldn't play Magic the Gathering. I played some back in the early days of the game but listening to my friends explain the game now they might as well be talking about the mathematics of quantum physics in an ancient dead language. From the outside it doesn't seem like Magic the Gathering is the easiest thing for new people to pick up so it might be a good thing for stores to be able to say you don't need to know all the in and out of another game to play this new game.

TBH, I'd like a reskin of SWTCCG, because that game was awesome.

Hmmm, this might up being interesting, I really don't mind they use TF Legends art, but I would've preferred if the other cards also mimicked the style for the sake of consistency. I wonder if they will also will re-utilize some of the weapons from Legends for attack cards...

That being said, I don't dig the fact that the character cards are going to be twice the size of the standard ones, is going to be a pain in the ass finding sleeves for it.

For those wondering why they didn't just re-theme MtG, there was an interview conducted where the WotC representative mentioned using this game as a test bed to bring in the over-sized flip-able cards into MtG.

So maybe this is a .... pre-tool to future MtG sets :p

Anyone got the SDCC set at a not-scalpy price? I missed the sales due to timezones and exams.

Commanders with Transform? Flip Planechase cards? It’s got to be for a summer supplemental set, since that would never work in Standard or any competitive setting.

The official Transformers TCG website is live:
Transformers Trading Card Game - Collect, Build, Battle - Transformers

There are videos describing the gameplay: https://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/tradingcardgame/howtoplay
and the written rules here: https://www.hasbro.com/common/docum...200c9a66/882A026A63734809B40F2FEE87E5A012.pdf

It's pretty straightforward and seems easy to learn. But, I like the look of it and think it has some potential to be really fun.

Oh and here are the card lists:
    Starter Set: https://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/tradingcardgame/starter
    Booster Packs: https://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/tradingcardgame/booster

If anyone lives in or near the Central Coast in CA, I'd love to have someone to play this game with when it finally comes out. PM me if you're nearby!
