Thank you for reminding me. Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp impersonated Optimus, Ratchet, and Wheeljack. Unless those 3 are the same height disguising isn't much of an arguement on correct scaling. Either that or making the 3 Seekers the same height has been wrong all along.

Windcharger held them together, but IIRC Mirage took credit for faking Menasor's look, basically they gave Mirage Hound's ability for the episode.

 

Are those necessarily to scale? I'm not saying either is correct - personally I'm just going to wait until we get more shots or prototypes.

So this thread has literally become a 'who can find the most cartoon stills to support their arguement'.

There's a reason it's futile using the actual cartoon itself to argue scale but I'm sure that won't stop anyone.

 

There simply isn't a correct scale. The holy scale chart was a reference for the animators but there's no such official information on heights etc for the G1 guys.
What ever looks good looks good. I would prefer alt mode to scale with bots being 'close enough to not look stupid' but thats me.

The animators took the approach of what ever looks good on any given day to suit any given narrative.

I think (for whatever that's worth) they will push the Stunticons to the forefront (meaning at least before Summer ends) and that the Arielbots may get a back seat. I say this based on a history of intense animosity and competitiveness between certain 3P companies. FT tends to want to be the big boy on the block and appears to love stealing the thunder of other companies. Hence, if they want to compete and throw shade they will have to get these out ASAP.

 

Your logic is sound but my gut feel is that FT will drag their feet like they always do ... the thing is, they know they don’t have to be first to market ... the whole point of being big boy on the block is that you enjoy the privilege of only ‘showing enough to win,’ as Errol Flynn would say, so prototypes are more than enough to cast a pall and serve purpose ... kinda fucked up to the collector but after Rouge I really want them to get shit right and not do a rush-job ... look at Tesla, when FT half-asses it can fuck the MP market for certain characters for years (same w/Willis to a lesser extent)

Speaking of FT Tesla. Any idea how to get replacement head. I went to install the new toon accurate face , the screw was so tight when I loosen it it caused a crack on the helmet and part of the screw hole broke. @dalianjj any replacement helmets laying around ????

 

I'm not sure why everyone is still arguing about "wheel size" of the alts, when it's absolutely proven based on the unaltered image provided by FT that Wildrider bot AND alt modes both have larger wheels than Sideswipe.

It's not a trick of the images, your eye is telling you the alt wheels are the same size because you already perceive them to be the same size.

Do an actual comparison, not an eyeball comparison. If you break up the image and put the wheels next to each other, they are clearly NOT the same size in either mode. Wildrider has a consistently larger wheel in both modes.

You can't argue scale if you are not acknowledging objective information. Feel free to repeat the comparison I've done if you don't think it's an honest comparison.

 

I understand what you're saying how the competition making another MP Perceptor is possibly seen in a poor light due to Tesla selling horribly as an early release. FT was still new to the game when they made him too. Regardless, I still kick myself for not buying him at the time, but I knew nothing of the market limitations at the time. So him taking a while to sell out I think negatively effected everyone.

But Willis from my understanding sold really well and quickly.

 

Are you regretting not buying Tesla in the beginning cause you think he is the ultimate MP Perceptor ( my opinion, he is a shitty looking MP Perceptor), or you could have flipped him in the secondary market for more $$$?

 

I don't buy to flip. I don't think he's the ultimate Perceptor either, but I do like the overall look of him. I don't think he's shitty looking, but do see how Fanstoys have gotten better with faces. But he's also the only Perceptor.

 

My spirit is summoned into every thread where people besmirch Tesla, so that I may pronounce my opinion that Tesla is a perfectly fine Perceptor and unfairly maligned.
