On this, I'm not paying full price on a TT BW Megatron. I'll wait and get The KO along with a KO of BW Optimus Primal. Which perplexes me, as I've yet to see a KO of Primal, let alone news of a BW Megs...anyone know anything on that?

Not quite although Armada would be preferred since that was my introduction to Transformers but really, I think 3P would benefit from doing more with other parts of the fandom outside of G1. Of course, you make a good point on how that is happening but still, I did say that it seems as if it has just started for while we are just starting to get Movie figures, some Beast Wars, some original stuff, the Cross Dimension line and the Galaxy Force stuff, it's taking baby steps with everything still basically being a sea of G1 and just multiple of the same character which is amazing for competition but at the same time, it's a little disappointing when you then come to the realization that there's like three or four companies doing Primes. Hell I remember back when the Dinobot craze hit and we had like FOUR different companies doing those. Granted each with different intent but still, I just think it'd be better for 3P to really start experimenting with other sides of the franchise like how cool would it be to get basically MP versions of the Transformers Prime cast, Armada figures that aren't just glorified bricks, really there's a lot that can be done here.

I suspect you’re seeing what you want to see to support your argument that you just want Armada stuff?
When the Dinobot craze happened they weren’t all G1. FT and Giga do g1 but Giga is reimagined, not straight G1. ToyWorld did a Dinobot Combiner. Planet X is FOC. Fans Project is modern Chug. DX9 did G1 sure but in Legends scale, while Iron Factories legends Dino’s are War Wtihin.
3Ps are doing loads of stuff from other continuities, just they haven’t got to the ones your interested in.
The other telling point is that of all the Dino’s I mentioned, the only ones I can think of that really sold out and went through multiple re-releases are FT’ G1 MP. Most of the others shelf warmed for a long time, went to deep discount and some are still there.
I’ll say it again. G1 MP sells and sells well. A lot of other stuff is a gamble or a hard slog to move. I’m not convinced the audience is there for a lot of the stuff people randomly ask for, and I’m pretty sure 3P companies feel the same.
But eventually someone will do Armada figures and IF it sells well, other will follow. If it’s a dud, then no one else will touch it.
But I have enjoyed the debate about it. It’s fun to hear different opinions and talk about stuff that isn’t “Scale” or “toon accuracy” or “crappy animation”.

Really what I'm saying is that these companies can afford to experiment more and more and probably should just take the shot. I mean if the Cross Dimension line and the Galaxy Force Starscream is of any indication, people are willing to reward creativity so long as the toy is good since hey, it's niche market but as Transformers fans have shown, they'll buy the figures so long as they're good.

Setting aside Planet X and Iron Factory, Giga Power was G1. Reimagined or not, it was meant to be G1. ToyWorld while being a combiner which made it more interesting was G1, Generation Toy's Shuraking was G1, FansProject is CHUG but let's not get pedantic about that, CHUG IS G1. Granted all of them did provide some different and interesting takes but it's still G1. Granted of course, G1 was the start of the brand and the thing EVERYONE refers back to when they think Transformers and maybe back then it was fine but nowadays? Well look at just how inundated with G1 we've been with the Prime Wars stuff from Hasbro, all the G1 figures, really by this point I don't think it'd hurt to ask for companies to maybe consider the possibility of turning away from G1 to do some more interesting things. Again, I mention Armada specifically because that was my introduction but really, there's plenty to pull from. We could get some MPs for characters from Transformers Prime, some new takes on characters from Animated, of course MakeToys is doing more Galaxy Force stuff and Mastermind did do that retool of their IDW Rodimus into Nitro Convoy/Override which is nice but still, just more variety would be nice instead of just chasing whatever trend is present. I mean take for example this stuff with G1 Prime. I won't argue what's on display as an Optimus fan and plus I do feel that they shouldn't just stop G1 stuff especially since it does sell but let's look at this for a second, when the MP Megatron stuff was going on, that was a bit different since there was just that desire for a proper redesigned MP Megatron that could fit with MP-10 and we weren't sure if Takara was even going to do a new one. With this? Well the thing is, MP Prime 3.0 has already been announced. It's out there and yet we have these two other companies with figures that as great as they look don't really do much. I mean the Dino stuff at least had distinct takes but these are just MP Primes that are focusing on being as accurate to the cartoon as possible. That's it and as nice as that is, we already have so many G1 Primes out there and the new official MP is coming so really there's not much I can say about these figures other than they are just another G1 Prime which again isn't bad but still.

Look is there really anything wrong with asking companies to maybe inject some more variety into their releases?

Nah nothing wrong with asking for more variety, I just disagree that we don’t already have variety. I’d also disagree with a lot of your assessments of those Dino’s as G1. Oh... and chug is NOT G1. The whole point of chug was modern reimaginings of G1. Fans Project LER Dino’s are Chug. They are not even close to being G1.
    But agree to disagree.
End of the day, 3P will move into other continuity as and when they choose to and only when their market research tells them it’s a legit business decision. If something sells well, others will follow. If it doesn’t sell...
But absolutely you should keep asking for new stuff.
But there’s no reason it has to be instead of what we’re getting. Companies won’t drop the G1 cash cow until it stops producing milk. And the reason companies like Maketoys and Badcube can afford to get creative is because of their MP lines. I’d just like people to stop coming into MP or G1 threads complaining that it’s not what they want and it should be binned to make way for their own pet favourite.
Don’t say “why do this? Do my thing instead” say “this looks cool. Now do an Armada Prime as well!!”
But it’s all cool and I hope that one day you get your Armada collection.

Of course, in fact I'd say just dropping everything because it's not unique is ridiculous and ultimately bad business and ultimately I'll just take what I can get. Really the only times I mention that it'd be cool if they do this is if someone already mentions it but it's not that I want them to stop and that's especially if they already got a prototype.

Really it's why I said and I quote in one of my replies that they should do this stuff along with their regular output. I mean I'm still looking to own one of these 3P G1 Primes.

I'd love a MP Armada Prime. Mainly without the trailer, I love that version. I've been waiting to see that guy realised into MP as well.
On a completely different note, I'd love a Star Convoy MP as well ... That would br the ultimate !!

Anyway, wonder if TE plan to do their own trailer !?
Would be wierd of they knew the exact dimensions of the official V3 and they made it compatible !!??
Imagine that !! Then for sure you'd know someone was leaking proto files and such ...

I'd personally would like an MP Armada Starscream, the Deluxe one worked out just fine as an update but really, that design has always been my absolute favorite as far as Starscreams are concerned.

Even if TT was "perfect" which we all know it won't be...it'll be panely as heck....I won't pay what they want for it. BW Megatron is $325 US. Prime is going to be that or more for sure. It's just not worth it with options like this (and I'm not really even convinced I NEED a new Prime in my collection).

I love a lot about this Optimus, but I'm still leaning towards Magic Square at the moment.

This and the Magic Square version look pretty good actually.  Much better than the G1 Optimus entry that came out last year, forgot the name of it.  The truck mode for Transform Element stands out.

Unfortunately when it comes to the articulation, they don\'t seem to be any better than MP10, with the exception of knee joints.  V3, for better or worse, looks like it\'s going with the Megs/BW/Sunstreaker level of movement.  Hard to look past that.

As I mentioned earlier, though, I\'m sure the price will be accommodating.  Just feel like I already own this with MP10.  Not much of an upgrade outside of astectics.

For those who don\'t own an Optimus yet, choices are looking daaamn good...

Given how clean bot mode looks (from the back and sides) and how unfragmented the altmode looks, I think they've out done Takara.

Takara's clearly has a backpack and visible panels and whatnot from the sides along with an altmode that has several visible seams. I'm really impressed with what they've done here in comparison.

I'll take two TE-01s. One as Optimus, one as helmet controlled OP imposter. I'm hoping the Autobot slot on the shoulder comes with a plastic symbol that can be glued to it. Also, would take the 2nd imposter and do a deception rub sticker on the shoulder.

IDK guys.. to me this is a Season 1 head sculpt if I ever saw it..

I'm going with TE.. But I hope they fix that God Awful camel toe!! Maybe make the underside straight with no bevel so it's just a seam, instead what it has now. (being polite). Fix that, and I'll definitely buy.

Well, I think there is at least demand for a Proper Armada Prime.. Going by the last fan's choice poll on Masterpiece which resulted in my coveted Star Saber Transformer. I get a sense by the poll results of what the fandom wants to see. If I were a 3P co. I would have jumped on these as soon as the results hit. Cause you know, someone would be pissed their bot didn't get made, and buy if made to what they were wanting.

"The winners of the Masterpiece Fan’s Choice poll. The votes are in and counted, and Star Saber from Transformers Victory won with over 30% of the vote.

As suggested earlier today by Figure King’s own poll, Transformers Armada Optimus Prime won second place, with 24% of the vote, and Super Ginrai from Chojin Masterforce took third, with a little over 18% of the vote. Dai Atlas and Super Fire Convoy, from Transformer Zone and Transformers Car Robots respectively, took the fourth and fifth places."

    1. Star Saber (Transformers Victory) – 31.2%
    2. Convoy (Micron Legend) / Transformers Armada Optimus Prime – 24.3%
    3. Super Ginrai (Chojin Masterforce) / Powermaster Optimus Prime (Generation 1) – 18.6%
    4. Dai Atlas (Transformer Zone) – 8.0%
    5. Super Fire Convoy (Car Robots) / Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime – 4.9%
    6. Beast Convoy / Beast Wars Optimus Primal – 4.6%
    7. Galaxy Convoy (Galaxy Force) / Transformers Cybertron Optimus Prime – 2.5%
    8. Big Convoy (Beast Wars Neo) – 2.1%
    9. Lio Convoy (Beast Wars Second) – 2.0%
    10. Grand Convoy (Transformers Super Link) / Transformers Energon Optimus Prime – 1.5%
    11. Fortress Maximus (Generation 1 / The Headmasters) – 0.3%

That poll is extremely old, lol. I do find it funny that no third party is touching the transformers series other than G1 or super masterforce (if we’re lucky). The closest we’re getting is maketoys’ galaxy manus that’s based on cybertron optimus.
