Well, wave 2 PotP voyagers just came in stock at TFsource.com. Grabbed Elita-1 and Hun-gurrr, finally, for $65. Of course I just opted to ship my stack yesterday so now I have to let some other crap accumulate if I want free shipping, lol.
Seems someone sold Hot Comics and Collectibles in Richfield a bunch of G1 figures recently. I bought a G1 Astrotrain with its original box and a G1 Soundwave. I never had any of the G1 Triple Changers as a child, and Astrotrain always seemed the coolest. Sure his G1 toy looks silly now, but as a kid in the 80s, I'd have loved how easy it is to flip from shuttle to locomotive train and back. I'm still amused by it as an adult honestly. Other G1 figures I saw were Brawn, Windcharger, Huffer, Shrapnel, Bombshell (with box), Grimlock, Kup, Skywarp, Starscream, Dirge, Ramjet (with box), Thurst, Rumble, Trailbreaker, Sideswipe, a boxed Mirage, and an incomplete Metroplex.
If anyone is still looking fro Nemesis Prime on Amazon, he is listed as Temporarily out of stock, but you can still place an order.
So I checked brickseek just to see if any of the Target in the area got in any new waves of POTP because they have been sold out for awhile. I see that Roseville has deluxes and voyagers in stock and I called them because i wasn't going to waste a trip out there if it was just a restock of wave 1. I had to call twice to get someone to pick up for the toy department and I ask about transformers and the guy tells me that Target no longer sell those Transformers and that all Targets have stopped selling them. I ask if he actually went out and looked and he said he did. I know that was a lie because he never put me back on hold and was just checking on his mydevice. He could of just said that they hadn't been put out yet but instead he tells me that Target dosen't sell transformers anymore, what they hell?
Yup, calling ahead is now worthless because they just check on an app and don't actually check the shelf anymore, which means if it's not online or part of an assortment you're screwed. It's all of them.
Go figure, I start to tinker with my Terrorcons and the Rippersnapper I picked up MONTHS ago apparently doesn't have pins at the bottom of the blue panels that his shoulds connect too. (Blot has these in purple) I'll have to see if TFSource can do anything after all this time. In the meantime, if anyone sees a Rippersnapper near Eagan set it aside at customer service or pick it up and let me know. I'll be in need of a replacement somehow.
What about the other arm, does it have a pin? I'm currently at work so it will be a while before I can check mine.
Just double-checked the feedback. It isn't pinned. Blot is pinned because you actually use that joint. It was ommited on Rippersnapper presumably to save money. Was thinking about doing that on mine.
If you've got Blot, the part that comes off on our Rippers is the same joint that Blot uses to puff out his shoulders to get out of the way of his beast mode head piece. On him, it's pinned. Also, if you try to spread Ripper's shoulders at that point like it appears you're supposed to, you can see the pin hole on the blue part his arm is attached to as well as where the pin is supposed to go on the torso piece. If it wasn't supposed to be pinned, they sure made a point of running a pin-hole through there. And while I don't think that joint is used for anything on Ripper like it is on Blot, if you do pop the shoulder out there's literally nothing holding it together beyond that. I thought maybe it was supposed to be friction but where you'd expect knobs on the torso to set in the holes on the blue piece there's just holes where a pin would go. I mean, in theory if I had a pin that was the right size and the right gear. Neither arm has a pin there. I'm reminded of the RiD Warrior Drift I bought that had the chest plate that was supposed to be pinned but wasn't. I'm willing to concede this issue isn't unique to mine, but I'm also wondering if this isn't a wider QC problem with the figure. I'll go find the Rippersnapper thread and see if anyone else has this. I think he's getting repacked in a later wave so it's entirely possible if we raise this now Hasbro may do something about it like they did MAGA Jazz.
Okay, so if this is a conscious decision by Hasbro why in God's name does he have a pinhole running through his torso and the shoulder? If you guys end up pinning yours, let me know if I can pitch in anything and get mine added to the pile.
Shared mold with Blot who as we both noted needs it, and probably designed to have it but omitted later in design or by the factory (with or without Hasbro's knowledge) to save money. We can get together some time for a pinning party. All we need are nails of the right diameter and length and a Dremel or other cutting tool.
That makes sense. The part holds in there tight enough on it's own (provided I don't screw it up now by fiddling with it too much). Considering how often pins cause issues for collectors, FrankieCon almost needs a "Pins and You" class.
