That B1G1 50% Meijer sale mentioned in the news post? DEAD DEAL. It expired on 6/30. The deal was actually meant to clear older inventory for these new toys.

I wish I could believe you "missed out", but Hasbro has spammed this Studio Series line so badly that we're actually LATE on receiving proper PotP re-stocks/toys. It is incredibly unlikely that you will have trouble finding these in your home town, as this line will get stocked before any other Generations line.

 

Yeah, but since it was on the 30th, I would've been able to nab that BOGO deal.

 

So wait, the lines aimed at children drawing a lot of hate is par for the course at this point, but now you people even diss the Studio Series and only consider Power of the Primes "proper" toys? Seriously...

 

I’m a lot more satisfied with Studio Series than any of the Prime Trilogy, so I don’t mind this at all. And it’s not just because I grew up with Bayformers; I actually watched all of G1 multiple times and loved it. However, we’ve already gotten so many CHUG figures that were fantastic and we’ve got Evergreen (basically just stylized G1) on its way, and even without that I wouldn’t mind more G1 rehashing in itself. The problem is that these Prime Trilogy figures are just so poorly made, not even bothering to use real paint apps for some and giving us sticker sheets instead. Not to mention that all of the deluxes have disgusting looking Combiner plugs right there on their torsos. And so many poor retools and redecoes with cheap plastic to bring it all together. It’s awful.

On the other hand, the Studio Series figures are all either brand new molds or significantly better retools of previous movie figures. But not once have I seen just an old figure in the same line with a new paint job, weapon, and head sculpt to call it a different character. The plastic seems significantly better as well.

So the way I see it, someone wanting to get into Transformers would be far more inclined to do so with these figures than PotP.

 

Found 2 Lockdown and a Jazz at the same Meijer that I reported it being found at. Looks like these are trickling out at the moment, and not widely sent to all Meijer in the area.

 

That's not how it works. The Studio Series toys have no more baring on the availability of PotP toys than the Rescue Bots toys.

 

The news article is misleading. It should say that Wave 2 DELUXES were found at US retail, this makes it sound like Wave 2 IN GENERAL was just now found at US retail. Also, isn’t Meijer in Canada? Is it here as well?

Anyway, Meijer’s a US store, mostly in Michigan, Ohio, and adjacent states. As far as I know they’re not Canadian at all.

 

Meijer is out of Michigan, and is in like Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin.

Didnt know about Wisconsin until I checked the internet.
