The Shockwave was good, but I actually like theirs better here, to be honest.

The designs can be busy, but these guys aren't hand drawn by Koreans in 1984 anymore, they don't have to all be simplified.

If I was in charge of casting, here's who I'd go with:

    Bumblebee: Antony Del Rio
Optimus Prime: Peter Cullen (of course)
    Windblade: Laura Bailey
    Grimlock: Fred Tatasciore
Wheeljack: Christopher Swindle (the perfect successor to Chris Latta)
Ratchet: Michael Bell (the guy auditioned for the role twice and was rejected both times, let's give him a chance)
Hot Rod: Josh Keaton (I like to use him as IDW Rodimus, and he fits perfectly, in my opinion)
Prowl: Troy Baker or Matthew Mercer (I can imagine them both doing a great job)
Blurr: John Moschitta, Jr. (who else?)

    Megatron: Frank Welker
    Thundercracker: Crispin Freeman
Starscream: Daniel Ross (another great successor to Latta)
Shadow Striker: Cree Summer or Nika Futterman
Shockwave: Corey Burton (if he's unable to reprise, Darryl Kurylo from Devastation is a good substitute)
Slipstream: already been cast, but if I could choose someone else, I'd go with Jaime King
    Soundwave: Frank Welker
Acid Storm: Scott Whyte (using his Skywarp voice from Devastation)

Personally, I think all those extra details make the characters look even more badass. They still look great without them, but in my opinion, it would be best to leave them on.

Edit: Upon closer examination of Soundwave's design, I'll admit that he could definitely afford to lose some of that detailing, just not all of it. Shockwave, however, looks almost perfect. The only thing I would get rid of is that little yellow light that looks like an extra eye.

Late to this thread, but I'm gonna say I dig it.

Some of the designs take me back to Animated.

I like what you did here. It definitely looks better for animation, but I think specifically those recesses on his head crest are integral to his design. I also think these new designs have so many extra details because that's the level of detail one would expect from a toy and I think they want the cartoon models to better match the product that will line shelves.

I find it odd that Thundercracker, a "typical seeker" as his bio states, is listed before Starscream. I wonder if there's any significance to that. o_O

I doubt it. Probably just how they did it.

I don't like it because I think it looks stupid not just because it differs from what we expect from these characters. I can't tell if you're being condescending or you're saying you don't like that it's different.

I feel like I’m the only human in the entire world who can’t fucking stand The Amazing World of Gumball. Everyone praises it for how wonderful it is, but I just find its “humor” to be unfunny and annoying.

Well the animation is wonderfully creative, but the writing from what I've seen is just late stage Simpsons. I've met alot of people who share that view.

Well that wasn’t a remark directed towards you; I just seemed angry because of the language that I used to describe how the situation of everyone thinking the show is the best thing ever makes me feel. But to explain why I don’t like it, I feel that the execution of many of the jokes in the show are awkward/forced. Sometimes I’ve noticed that they just flat out explain the jokes after they make them.

The characters also are seemingly ALWAYS SHOUTING. Especially Gumball. And especially on the delivery of his jokes.

Fair enough. I can understand that. It is sadly one of the only good shows on Cartoon Network these days.

Glad to see my fav Thundercracker getting some love again, but no Skywarp? In my mind they always come as a pair. I used to enjoy their buddyness in G1, and it would be nice to see a similar dynamic with one of the other jets (I refuse to use the fan-term).
Windblade again, eh? I can't say I outright dislike the character, but on the other hand I've never really found her particularly memorable or noteworthy beyond fulfilling the strong female archetype.

From reading the bios, I sincerely hope this is not some indication of how Bumblebee is going to be portrayed in the actual show. I've had more then enough obnoxiousness with the Animated incarnation...

As for the designs...Well I'm never going to be onboard with the mouths over faceplates and visors trend. It's not nostalgia, just preference.
But I was always in the minority that liked it when designers put more of an emphasis on the alien aspect of the Transformers, as opposed to making them more rounded and giving them overly humanized traits. Which is one of the reasons why I loathe Derrick J Wyatt's look.
Though these are very much within the grounds of acceptable by comparison, as far as I am concerned. At least Soundwave and Shockwave appear to be keeping theirs.
Ultimately so long as the writing is decent, and there is none of that ran-dumb/mean-spirited humour that popularises a lot of today's animation, or overindulgence in fanwank and references. I'll give it a go.

    1. Why are you replying to an old and unrelavent thread?
    2. What’s your problem with Acid Storm being a girl?

Because Acid Storm is a female in Cyberverse. Obviously. I think that answers that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Wikipedia article indicates she's voiced by a woman named Jaime Lamchick, and she appears in this episode.

So that's why. Cool your jets. Haha
