I need this. I never even read the Marvel comics, but man I love the Marvel colors so much.

 

Very happy with what i'm seeing, V1 was the first Transformers i ever got back in the early 80's. So i'll 100% be picking this up. This is probably all we are seeing though for the year i take it? No chance of any of the remaining g1 crew showing their face aswell?

At any rate with how few is left shouldn't be more than a couple to three years before it'll be done, so i guess i'll have it done before i turn 40 haha.

Given how Grapple,Inferno and Sunstreaker came out though i just know TT will kill it with the carbots that are left.

With the comics being reprinted and translated in Japan, this seems like an easy inevitable tie-in.

 

Lots of gaps and panel lines around his shoulder & back area. But Takara wanted to match the MP-36 & MP-39 aesthetic and they certainly have done that.

I don't know, I could see a nemesis or with 36+ a toy version with chrome thighs but contrary to belief they really haven't milked mp-10 like everyone says. The only "real" releases have been mp-10 and 10b. Every thing else has been high end exclusives working with other properties that they know only a few people will ever buy.

 

So far this thing looks pretty good, from the front, I see a hinge and a back plate that makes me think the truck windows fold up onto the back. That would be disappointing considering how clean MP-10 is all around. I am also curious to see how the Magic Square Optimus will stack up quality wise. I really like what they did with MP-36 and MP-39 so I will have a little faith on this until I see some reviews.

 

Technically I shouldn't be bringing this up but I'm curious to see how 3P are going to have fun with this figure.

Oversize, undersize, add-on parts, replacement parts, I say bring it all on.

For official talk, you know what would really sell me on this? If he is actually able to wield his Matrix like he and Rodimus did in The Movie and S3 where their fingers actually insert into the holes in the handle. I know it's highly unlikely the figure itself will be able to do it, so I can accept replacement hands that simulate it but all the more better if they really do go all-out with this and make it possible.

In a nutshell, please do not use an undersized Matrix. Make it workable at the size it should be.

 

At this point what's equally annoying as people coming in spouting negative shit is the fact that everyone else is actually paying any attention to it. Stop baiting the fucking trolls, and they'll fuck right off. Eventually they'll get bored.

Wonder what the deal is there, if Prime's going to have two slots in each hand rather than one?

Apart from the back of the hand, which implies we're getting aft hand motion, the thumb is also different from Megatron's



It's pretty clearly designed so that the thumb can sit upright, for a thumbs-up pose no doubt! The thumb won't be completely straight, but I still think it'll look pretty good.






The above two cartoon shots are perfect examples of how true-to-toon they've got his face sculpt here.



The only thing we're missing from this scan is a bit of detail around the bridge of the nose, no doubt either because it's washed out in the shot, or the grey paint went on a bit thick in there. I'm sure the final version will look perfect.

I do love how they nailed the gentle splay of his antennae.

 

Wow fantastic job removing the background, text and building the pieces where the text was. I actually saved the white background version as my phone wallpaper. This is a perfect template for any digi bashers out there.
