I've just unboxed him and put him straight into combined mode but f*** me, the combined mode has wildly, wildly exceeded my expectations. It's astonishing.

Has anyone posted any stickered vs unstickered pics?

That's disappointing. I feel that it's nearly a must for any transformer with a beast or monster mode to have a beast or monster mouth that can open and close, since it helps in making for more dynamic posing and characterization of the figure. It also makes the beast or monster mode more threatening to look at if posed in an "attack stance" with the mouth open. People are mainly complaining about things like a lack of swords for the individual Predacons and the combined mode and I'm complaining about a lack of opening and closing beast mode mouths. Kinda lame on my part, huh?

How does the poseability of the individual Predacons in robot mode compare to other PotP Voyagers in robot mode such as Hun-Gurrr, Starscream, Grimlock, and Elita-1?

I must say Predaking is astounding. Pictures don't do him justice. The plastic quality is at least on par with Devastator, if not a little better. Balance is good, weight's evenly distributed and the ratchets hold poses just fine.

A pretty good, not perfect, range of motion.

Stickers are awful, they're beginning to peel already.

Divebomb is probably the best of the set with Razorclaw probably the weakest, but all of them bring something to the table. And by no means is Razorclaw a slouch, he's just the lowest on the totem pole if you have to rate them. They seem to be thicker and more dense than other Voyagers, like more effort was put into these.

Tolerances are a bit iffy on some tabs and slots, I have stress marks on Rampage's arm tabs and Tantrum's beast legs. They're holding fine but the marks are quite visible.

And no, no slot in the palms for a sword to hold.

    MVIMG_20180623_023952.jpg

If you tab everything in correctly and massage the parts just right, they/he hold/holds together solid like a rock.

I fell in love with Transformers and G1 all over again with Combiner Wars. I felt an elated joy with Titans Return that made that original love grow. Power Of The Primes made it solid as stone. They have held out and saved some of their best for last and Predaking is absolutely one of their best. Period.

    Well worth the asking price.

    In hand first impressions:

    I'll start with the bad.

The ratchet in Rampage/PKing's left arm is really weak on mine (in comparison to Divebomb which is super tight) it can't hold its own weight - Anyone suggest a potential fix?

A couple of stress marks present in one of Razorclaw's rear legs, a couple of cringe moments with some the tabs too.

The Hands - The lack of posable thumbs is a bit of a downer and not convinced by how they tab at the wrist either (well on the left arm anyway, I think I've just been unlucky with my Rampage).

A lot of backpack with some of the bot modes.

    No swords.

I would have also liked Predaking to be a head taller than Bruticus/Menasor rather than him being in Metroplex's weight class.
    However these are minor niggles.

The good far outways the bad.

The looks - it screams Predaking when you look at that combined mode. There's a lot of detail in these that you don't see at first (I may have to panel line this sucker)
He has an awesome silhouette, I highly advise you to put a light Infront of it in a dark place just to checkout the awesome shadow it casts.

The engineering on this thing is very clever with an intuitive transformation. You see why the backpacks are necessary as a way of integrating as many parts as possible. Good strong ratchets (mostly).

The articulation a possibility of this giant is great (Shame Rampage is letting the side down)

I'll look more at the individual bots when I get time.

Wish list for DNA designs upgrade:
    - New hands
    - A new ratchet for Rampage
    - Maybe new wings with more articulation?
    - does the head need longer antennae?

I'm blown away by this guy. The combined mode is on par with Toyworld Constructor, although of course the individual bots are a very different deal. Like the above poster, the only real issue is more looseness that I'd like in Rampage's combined shoulder joint.

I'm happy to see that there don't seem to be any big QC issues with this figure. Looks like I'ok have to buy it.

The Voyagers don't really make any compromises like Devastator did. Mixmaster felt like a shellformer carrying most of his vehicle mode on his back (oddly enough he's one of my favorites of the set lol) and Long Haul takes the brunt of well, everything, to form Devastator. Kind of ridiculous looking on his own.

Here? They look like the Predacons. All have pretty much the same range of motion, with ankle tilts! And they're definitely bigger, all around, compared to your run of the mill Voyagers. You can tell a good part of their operating budget went into these guys.

As is, this looks like a goddamn great set. It just needs a little TLC from a 3rd party company to put it over the top. Either way, he will be my CHUG Predaking for sure. Hasbro did one hell of a job here.
