Got mine today from Baba. Not bad at all. REAL transformation, much better engineering than Mech Planet version, really is a mini masterpiece in terms of engineering. Also has ankle tilt, and wheels fold down to make him much more flexible.

Now, paint wise and maybe alt mode, i think Mech Planet might be better.

Also, wheels are "fake" (cant rotate). The gun does store in alt mode.

Anyways, now i can have one in bot mode and the other in alt mode

I don't have mine yet (damn you, customs!) but isn't there an OS KO MP Ironhide? Seems like that might make recreating this little gem possible.

On a bit of a tangent the G1 cartoon gets knocked around a lot for absurd stuff like this, including by me, but I have to give them some credit for prioritizing giving us little cool, exciting scenes over consistency. They were more interested in selling toys than engaging in Tolkien-esque world building. Who among us as kids, or among the show's staff, could have guessed that 30+ years later we'd be poring over animation stills and scale charts with the intensity of religious scholars?

BTW, do other hobby's have problems like ours? I don't collect GI Joes, though I loved 'em as a kid. Do Joe collectors have passionate debates about whether a Duke figure should look more like a "real" person or be as flat and featureless as the cartoon?  

 

There IS, but it's kind of full of Ironhide parts.

Also, Hoist driving Huffer or GTFO.

 

Forgot about the parts! Of course he's not "screen accurate" is he if when you open him up he doesn't have a completely smooth and featureless bay for his gun and little 'Bee to play in.

And ROFL Hoist driving Huffer, forgot all about that one. That's got to be one of the best.

 

Maybe you could convince @Deep Space Arsenal to make a 3D Printed Ironhide vehicle shell to put Newage Bumblebee in.
