Got a spare back cover if anyone's interested. Would prefer trades.

Thanks for the reply, I was under the impression that the stamped numbers were serial numbers that represent when the figure was made. I guess if the dates are really far apart it may mean it’s a V2.

My V1 had a loose gun barrel on his back, very loose right arm bicep swivel and loose right ankle. I fixed the gun barrel and bicep swivel with Future.

The V2 has a loose gun barrel but not as bad and the same loose right ankle. And as far as I can tell the green tint on the face is identical on both. The joints overal may be slightly tighter but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference.

Nippon Yassan still has stock of the V1 but they are charging more for it. I’m wondering if I got a second V1 by mistake. I’ll check the number stamped in the boxes to see if they were made around the same time.

I'm curious why they are charging more for V1 than V2. V2 is really cheap.

Check the yen to dollar exchange. It’s going against the Yen as we speak.

Yes the dollar is stronger than the yen currently.

    $1 = 109.96 Yen

NY increase the prices on old MPs gradually over time. It happened when Wheeljack and Bumblebee were reissued, both of the original runs were still in stock for about twice or three times the price - completely illogical.

Was going to pick up a double of MP-36 but now I'm pretty excited to get 36+ instead (though I may pick up a second regular one later). It's going to be nice to enjoy a slight variation of the greatest action figure Transformer ever made.

okay now I'm checking mine. I think I got V1

EDIT: I just checked mine. He's perfect. All joints are strong and nothing is floppy. His face paint is perfect, and light grey. Mine is as perfect as a figure can get. I don't see any flaws. All the paint is perfectly applied. No drips or scratches, the gun barrels are all sticking in their right places. No weak joints either.

Mine is the same as yours, but I don’t move him too much to keep the friction joints tight!

What's the best Japanese retailer to pick up this guy without the orange plug? Anime Export has the plug, and Amazon.jp isn't shipping him to the US.

Hey, just wondering, I’m about to purchase an MP 36 that’s opened, but are there any visible differences (# on box like MPM-04?) between the reissue and the original? Thanks!

None. Just difference in face color, joint and tolerances. What version are you picking up?

There’s a number starting with a letter stamped into the rear or bottom of the box. I believe the letter represents the month the figure was manufactured. The numbers are the day and the year. Maybe someone could confirm that?

I can’t remember my numbers but my V1 was made a few weeks (months?) before the April 2017 release and my V2 is stamped late in 2017 for its January 2018 release.

And both of them appear identical to me including the face colour, except the joints may be slightly tighter on average for the V2 reissue. The right ankle was actually looser on my V2 so I swapped the entire right leg with the V1 to make my V2 perfect.
