With just a handful of figures mainly exclusives it seems we have hit the end of the Generations Classics G1 line. Yeah some figures like Ironhide / Ratchet may still need updates in some fans eyes. But at least there was an homage to nearly every figure from our childhood. I think Hasbro did a good job knocking these all out in a 12 year span. From Robots in Disguise Classics through Power Of The Primes each sub-line which eventually became Generations featured a stand out work of art on a technical level. Yeah the quality may have gone down over the peak years of universe / reveal the shield but we should be thankful we actually got full sized combiners and Hasbro was kind enough to revisit that line with POTP. The next line should be a departure from what we have seen as a REBOOT of the current line and will feature NEW molds and idea designs for a War On Cybertron (REBOOT / REVISITED?)

What are some of your standouts for each sub-line?

    These are mine

Classics Starscream (Seekers)- Perfect on every level and used dozens of times
Universe Inferno- Another solid figure from when the peak of the line.
Generations- Drift- Great representation of the IDW character.
Reveal The Shield Wreck-Gar- He can ride himself!
Generations IDW Metroplex / Arcee- (TIE) A Huge figure and the female Transformer we all wanted.
Combiner Wars Devastator- 6 Voyagers make up a huge TITAN!
Titans Return Trypticon- The Fans Voted on this one!
Power Of The Primes Dinobots- We can all agree these were long overdue.

one of my favorite all time Classics figure is Bumblebee. he holds up today a lot better than the seekers (who I still love, but they feel a little dated now)

Classics/Reveal the Shield Bumblebee (even though I'm selling mine in favor of the Masterpiece Bumblebee)

    Classics/Universe Starscream

    Generations Wheeljack

    Combiner Wars Devastator

    Combiner Wars Menasor

    Combiner Wars Bruticus

    Titans Return Fortress Maximus

    Titans Return Chromedome

    Titans Return Krok

    Titans Return Seaspray

    Power of the Primes Beachcomber

    Power of the Primes Dinobots

Looking forward to seeing what the WFC trilogy has to offer. I also want to go back and get the Leader Class Optimus Prime and Megatron figures, as well as the rest of the Classics/Universe Autobot cars and Decepticon Jets.

    Standouts (from figures I own):

    T30 Springer, Sandstorm, and Arcee
CW Superion, Megatron, Bruticus, Ultra Magnus, Prowl (the best of the CW 1984er Autobots)
TR Brainstorm, Triggerhappy, Topspin, Mindwipe, Chromedome, Rumble (vastly under-appreciated in my opinion), Sixshot
PotP Optimus, Abominus (well, soon to be completed), Swoop, Slash, Snarl, and Slag/Slug

    TR was STACKED!

Classics Optimus is an exceptional figure. Generations Springer is probably the best thing CHUG ever produced.

Personal affection for CW Ultra Magnus/TR PMOP, CW Sky Lynx, CW Computron, Generations Skids, Generations Waspinator, TR Rewind, TR Gnaw, and TR Twinferno.

I'm afraid you're jumping the gun a bit, considering the rumours for the War for Cybertron toyline coming out next year and the fact that Micromasters will be playing a large role in it, prematurely considering the end of Generations going on here is definitely what I'm seeing.

Yeah, we may seem like we are getting down into the weeds of the 87/8/9 Characters but there's still a whole bunch I'd love Hastak to get through, including some much needed second looks at a few of the 84-86 Central Cast before we accept the End.

Best of Generations: a fuck ton of good stuff like T30 Springer, CW Superion, CW Menasor, UW Computron, TR Most things especially the Deluxes (Dat Swoop!).......basically it's a long, long list for me.

I say why accept the end? Move g1 back to the forefront in all media and start telling stories, add new characters.

Agreed. Those are excellent. Now, if they would just do that for Ironhide and Ratchet, I think we will be ready to move forward...

Remaining G1 guys I want to see: A new Shockwave, Apeface, Snapdragon, Needlenose, Spinister, Flywheels, Crankcase, and a new mold for Ironhide/Ratchet. I'd like to see an official DJD team as well.

Then bring on some Armada characters. Optimus, Megatron, and Sideways would be great.

My favorites from what I own: T30 Springer, RTS Cyclonus, CW Ultra Magnus, and Universe Hound.

There are a tonne of G1 characters that still need Chug treatment such as the Micromasters, the majority of Pretenders, Triggerbots, Sparkler Mini Bots and Horrorcons.

Actionmasters have cried out for updates for the past 3 decades and the cancelled Collector's Club repaints that have surfaced only rub salt into the wound especially given how great they looked.

The glaringly obvious repaints we haven't gotten over the years such as Flywheels from Titans Return Megatron or Hooligan from the Leader Jetfire mold never cease to frustrate me.

On a positive note, there have been quite a few stand outs especially in the Titans Return line, itself the stand out line for me since the franchise began.

    Of the toys I have...

Combiner Wars Devestator though the third party kits greatly improve the individual Constructicons especially Mixmaster.

    Titans Return Trypticon
    Titans Return Quake
    Takara Legends Hardhead
    Takara Legends Blurr
    Combiner Wars Ironhide
    Takara Legends Brainstorm
    Titans Return Mindwipe
    Titans Return Galvatron
    POTP Rodimus Prime
    POTP Tailgate
    TR Seaspray
    TR Topspin
    TR Triggerhappy
    TR Misfire
    TR Krok
    TR Perceptor
    TR Kup
    POTP Swoop
    POTP Slash
    POTP Beachcomber
    TR Soundwave
    TR Weirdwolf
    TR Wheelie
    TR Brawn
    TR Bumblebee
    CW First Aid
    CW Hotspot
    CW Defensor
    Classics Jetfire
    Classics Blades
    Henkei Megatron
    WFC Voyager Soundwave
    Classics Optimus Prime
CW Ultra Magnus once you get the third party transformable cab.
    Off Road
    I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

There have also been some disappointments.

POTP Dinobots for being too small.
POTP Crankcase duo also for being too small.
Alpha Trion. Horrible character and modern beastformers should be able to open and close their mouths especially at the Voyager point.
    Sentinel Prime
The whole Primemaster gimmick replacing the far superior Titanmasters.
    Titans Return Ravage. C'mon Hasbro!!!
The Legend size class phasing out Scouts.

i recon next year we should see the last of season 1 -4 done, bar possibly scorp, he might end up being later due to no leaks if there is going to be a titian next year. i mean hell what 8 characters to go for me, they could knock that out in 1 wave.

generations as a whole how ever is far from done, with the micromasters i have the hopes they will look at some of the action master only characters and give them much needed transformations, i also have my hopes on g2, so after all of that whats next well we have R.I.D Amarda, as for energon with out killing the gimmic of the whole show i dont think they can do better, as for cybertron i think they could give us the traffic light but outside of that nope they shouldnt even bother, they dont have the budget to out do cybertron, infact i would go as far to say by the time we get there i dont think even the MP line will have the budget to out do cybertron.

But the big one that i think they need to look at and i hope they sprinkel these characters though out the up coming wfc and beyond is beast wars, by it self we all know , even the most die hard fans know it wont hold that well by itself, but its time they have to start puting though updates in the line, there are alot of beast wars toys they just wont beat, but there are a few that they could, terrorsaur, tratantuals for two

I bought my son virtually every figure from the Prime Wars Trilogy. We have quite a few from T30.

A true Ratchet and Ironhide are the glaring omitions. CW Ironhide is OK. I would have liked voyager Seekers that were better than PotP Starscream.

Also a mainline Shockwave would have been great.

i agree there are a lot of great figures that have came out of this line. arcee is a standout for me. i think she nails the character from the cartoon perfectly. also the minibots and insecticons are great. i would love to see a good ironhide/ratchet, reflector and skids come soon.

WFC is part of Generations. Not sure why you're acting as if Generations is over because the latest sub-line is ending.

    • WFC Bumblebee- might be too big for scale but this is a DAMN fine figure. Sharp, one of my favorite Bumblebee figures
    • WFC Prime- when's the last time we saw a gladiator-esque Prime? Even more fun with that Corbot war axe. Plus has 5mm ports for more weapon add ons!
    • WFC Megatron- Solid deluxe, not many deluxe Megatrons on the same level
    • WFC Soundwave(deluxe)- Great sculpt and the weapons turn into batteries or something for the tape deck, WHAT?!
    • WFC Soundwave(voyager)- I'm not big on gimmicks but the launching disc deck with automorphing discs was awesome to me. Also love how they came with cases.
    • RTS Laser Prime- this figure had ankle tilt and HINGED WRISTS at a time when neither were common. This figure set the standard for sword bearing transformers, all ought to follow in its example. The hinged wrists aided so much in sword wielding poses.
    • Classics Jetfire-Solid figure with excellent homaging going on and better armor integration than the leader figure. The leader has a more normal looking jet nose/cockpit, more proportionate mask, better hip articulation and bigger size but aside from that...I think I prefer the voyager.
    • Henkei Megatron- talk about underrated..this Megatron turns into a gun, is solid in both modes and has better leg articulation than the leader. People hate on this for the wings but just fold them back!
    • Devastator- The Constructicons Solo are huge and sturdy as is the combine mode. Great set. More range in the knees would've been great but otherwise a solid set.
    • Universe Inferno- this figure stood apart from the line, great figure with intricate detail and great use of clear parts. Modernization done right.
    • Lugnut-Animated gone CHUG! Great modes and can wield RTS Legends gun Megatron
    • WFC Starscream- at a time when FOC deluxes came off as small and cheap came THIS SEEKER WHICH FELT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Feels solid and very different from the FOC toys.
