The gun looks nice but it seems maybe a bit too big. It also highlights how spindly SS Prime's arms are.

I second this. Upon first glance, he isn't all that impressive but much better in hand and playing with him. If this were a Voyager we got in 2007 or 2009, he'd be considered a marvel in engineering but kind of hard to follow acts like the ROTF leader class prime or MPM prime but both modes look accurate enough and he's just a fun toy to play with. Possibility is also great and fun, I have had him battleing my TLK Megatron at my work desk. They scale up nicely.

I still plan on painting mine up a bit as I am not a fan of the gun metal color they gave him and I think that only helps make those blues and reds come off darker than they are.

My only other gripes on this figure are the short smoke stacks, expecially compared to the prototype pic of the figure on the packaging, and I think another fold point of two on the back pack would have been nice as the gas tanks hang too low.

Aside from that, I think he is the best voyager movie Prime behind Evasion mode prime. The best for this truck and robot design for sure.

Of course one last gripe... Lask of firearm but thanks to Dr. Wu, I will be picking up that gun for him at minimum.

They also need to do Starscream. Prime, Kruegerbot and Starscream are the only ones I own. I dont think Kruegerbot needs anything but side fillers.

    I miiiiight get Ironhide

I know someone already said this but he’s honestly not that bad. The most egregious thing about him is the ridiculously large chest and the black hinges on the chest. He’s a really good figure, the truck mode isn’t too bad, and the articulation is top notch.

I agree with bradforj that Prime is the worst I’ve seen for that character

Would of been cool if they could produce a voyager head with the spin face option so u could have him with or without the face plate like the takara aoe leader

Really? Better than the DOTM voyager? IDK man... that toy actually fits better with the rest of the Studio Series line (and is the right size) and actually integrates the swords (or hooks, depending on which one(s) you have) into the forearm. It's basically like a tiny version of the amazing Leader class toy. It doesn't 'cheat' the window transformation, the back kibble looks more like the movie, and although the figure is skinny in general it looks really good dynamically posed. The only 'off' thing about it is the feet are too small.

If you have the DOTM voyager you can get away with skipping this figure. Having said all that... I really like the Studio Series OP! I love his proportions. I like the darker red, I just wish the figure had a better paint deco (no chest door flames? BOOO). This is one of the figures that really makes me hate the global standardization of the TF line... in previous years, I'd have just held out for the inevitable, more-accurate Takara deco. Still, what we have is by no means BAD, deco-wise, and mold-wise, it's pretty great.

His head's more than likely too small here to do that. Unless someone does an OS KO of him with alterations to the design to make it more Screen-Accurate.

    I'm totally getting these.
His head is unfortunately way too small for that.

Ok, so I think you accidentally put your post inside his quote. :lol  And the Voyager I think you're talking about is the Hunt For The Decepticons Battle Blades/Battle Hooks Optimus Prime, not DOTM Optimus Prime, who was a pretty terrible Voyager Class Optimus Prime figure.

Edit: @Treadshot 2.0 I'm trying to quote you, but for some stupid reason your post I'm trying to quote in this post is gone when I click "Post"!!!

We can argue till the cows come home home.

Yes, he is too small. He's so dark, only the red comes out in pictures.

Ive owned and sold a whole lot of Murdermus Prime figures, over the course of the series. Aside from the ROTF leader, he is the second best one. Dude's solid.

    Worth $30? Dont know.

Fair enough point made here. I missed out on getting the HFTD/DOTM prime. Never saw the HFTD version anywhere, and the DOTM version was just too ridiculous for me to purchase with the moon and stars in the window. If they added a wolf, then I would have bought because it would have been the kind of ridiculousness worth displaying. Lol.

I have just about every other movie voyager Prime, even the DOTM Takara version with the better gas tanks and trailer.

So aside from the the HFTD version, the SS is pretty damn good in comparison to any other movie voyager prime IMHO.

I'll post pics of mine when I paint him up, of course this will be after I am done painting Blackout. Spent all night Tuesday detailing his helecopter mode with Gundam panel liner. Looks awesome so far and I see where SS Optimus has strong potential, just needs good paint apps.

By the time some of these third party stuff actually becomes available for sale, I tend to lose interest by then and money ends up somewhere else.

I just gave Studio Grimlock my combiner wars Menasor's sword and, meh, called it a day.

Blackout is an absolute brick with flip flop shoes, but looks cool in his one pose. :p

Is that the only version that came out in your area? Because that wasn't the original, regular retail release. Albeit, I own the regular version, and aside from the gun, it's not that great of a figure.
    Lost me right here.

The only one I saw was the one with the moon and stars. Looking back, I could have just painted the windows... Or was there more deco besides that? IDK, either way didn't buy it. Already had buster Prime so didn't feel a need for it.

I have both the MPM-4 and the LT-02 Primes which the latter is amazing, but I like the SS Prime for what it is as well as the rest of the line. Only have Blackout and Prime so far but looking forward to getting the rest as some of these characters needed an update.

I hope they make an up-to-date Bonecrusher in Voyager scale. IDC if they make the twins from ROTF but since I have the Ice Cream truck version, they should scale nicely with the SS figures.

There is a listing for a Studio Series Voyager Class Bonecrusher floating around on the Internet somewhere. Alongside a listing for a different Optimus Prime.
