You most definitely are not the only one. I love it when a gestalt team's weapons combine together to form the gestalt's weapon. That's probably the main reason why I'm considering even getting PE's Volcanicus kit.

 

Getting the tdw set , when it arrives.

 

Im hoping they do a proper purple cartoon accurate head as well. A chest plate would be cool too. Maybe that will be the next set as they did with others. Suprised at all the hate this got. Sure they could have made the gun grey. But too me any excuse to shove Hasbros stock feet/hands in my parts bin is a good thing. They are just too goofy and toyish looking for the sake of parts integration. These feet at least fill out instead of tapering in. Plus they have ratchets instead of ball jointed ankle tilts. And these hands are normal sized instead of Hasbros kangaroo boxing gloves. Thats a win win in my book. Ive never bought from that other company that makes the more IDW inspired sets, Im a G1 guy. I dont want no stinking mele weapon. I dont even think abominus used a gun in the cartoon. He just used his fists like the big dumb brute he was. So heres hoping the cartoon accurate head/chest is on its way.

 

I mean, at least give us a pair of the big cannons, a pair of the chainguns, maybe work out their kibble problem in gun mode, some friggin' ratcheting joints. It gets to the point where it just gets... much.

 

People keep forgetting... PE releases Hands and Feet as a set, and then another set contains other combiner items.

 

But the hands and feet typically don’t include a combiner weapon unless a 2nd set isn’t planned

 

I hope so 'cause currently, even with PC-24, PotP Abominus looks bad.

Dunno if to hold out on this or wait 'n' see if another 3rd party company finally releases their versions of the Terrorcons. Odin is nice, but I want more options.

 

This set is a hard pass. The guns are remolds of the bruticus/computron guns. The feet are the same stuff that was in pc-01. Im over it really. I already replaced my superions feet with the tcw ones. I wish tcw would do a menasor kit for the feet. Those PE feet ball joints are so weak, even with floor polish

 

I don't think people forget. I think people's expectations just keep ratcheting up as time progresses especially since TCW or whatever is producing similar upgrade sets for substantially less.
Frankly, I think PE's upgrades edge out over TFDW just based on plastic quality and overall modularity of the sets alone, but everyone's mileage differ. I suppose there's some impetus to shake a cage or two now that there's legitimate competition.

 

Yes, TDW absolutely wins at $50 for EVERYTHING. They look great.

PE sticks with the slightly goofy aesthetic.

 

Exactly. I haven't forgotten that but I hardly think they're gonna release a set of combining weapons, although they MAY release another set (maybe a reworked Computron chest shield) later.

 

Yeah, I loved PE during CW, but TDW is doing much better sets now. Here's hoping this means PE is too busy working on a Primal upgrade for PotP Optimal Optimus, like they did Ginrai, to do a proper Abominus set.

 

PC-21, -22, -24 feet have the new ankle joint similar to Hasbro POTP feet which allows side-to-side movement. I think falling forward combiner days are over.

 

I'm looking forward to those, if they work better then the ball joints. God damn, I just had CW Computron fall off the top of my shelf the other day and haven't bothered to pick it back up yet. Damn official PE ball joint feet, the KO ones have been super solid for me.

Yeah, they're as fine as you can expect Hasbro figures to be out of the package. Lol

 

This set is ok, really hoping for either a second set to have upgrade parts for an anime version of Abominus or TDW just coming out with a better set.

 

Wow, Im pretty disappointed in this set. I already dumped PE's Volcanicus upgrade for the "Transform Dream Wave" version and it looks like I'm gonna have to wait and hope they have something in store for Abominus as well.

Back when I was still dreaming of what could be, I was hoping for these add ons:

1)Two pink chest shield side bits that could attach to, and cover up Hun-gurr's little dragon arms to give him a bit more of the G1 vibe with the full pink chest shield.

2) I also think it would be easy to make a white cover piece for the front of thighs, for when he's in combined mode. they could wrap around and hook onto that big peg on his inner thigh, and best of all the bottom of the thigh piece would have a dragon head on the knees!

3) Id like a new combined mode head that captures the G1 head look better.

4) As long as I'm nit picking a new grey gun sculpt would've been great.

C'mon TDW, dont let me down!

PC-24 is nice but really needs the TCW g1 full purple show chest plate and some WHITE thigh fillers to toon him and bulk him up.
I'm getting POTP Abominus to fill that ~12in sized void in my collection.
I will be painting the head show style.
