Ever since booking the room I've been getting automated calls from Marriot talking about a free stay based on my registration number or something like that. I waited on hold to see what it was about for 10 minutes before giving up.

Spam? Overbook? Free upgrade? Anybody get these calls and follow through?

 

$200 hotel room is a discount?

The group rate is good at the price of $135 per room for a King room or $155 for 2 Queen Beds.

I havent been to a convention since botcon 2001. If peter or frank show up my life will be complete. Hopefully they announce more guests soon

 

especially Frank Welker, since he is new to attending Cons as of 2015, BotCon 2001, I believe that was the only convention the late John Stephenson attended.

 

I did that at the last botcon using the "my name is" blank name tags that you can buy at Wal-Mart and it worked pretty well, i gave them to all my friends and we all walked around with our tfw screen names on them. Got to meet alot of my "online friends" like ikkstak, swage66, and optibotimus to name a few. I'm thinking ill do it again.
On another note, does anyone who has attended a tf con before know if any ko companies will be there? Specifically Wei jang (sp?) cuz I want to score some oversize chug dinobots.

 

I know showz wont be. I asked if they wanted me to represent them but they havent answered yet. I know tcp will be there. Hoping emgo will be there

 

I just researved my hotel. My wife agreed to go with me and my son this year. She said all our pictures from tfcon dc looked fun and she wanted to go to Chicago. Super jazzed.

I kind of wanted to fly but it looks like 3 round trip tickets Columbus to Chicago is around $800. A little rich for my blood, or more accurately put that would cut into my toy budget. It’s only a 6 hour drive though. Just hate the thought of driving into Chicago area on Friday afternoon. We decide to table that discussion until August

Oh man, on the one hand I'm glad I didn't miss seeing him but on the other it seems like a convention appearance from him is very unlikely. Would be ecstatic to get that new POTP Predaking set signed by him (not to mention Dirge or Metroplex)!
