He was taller than that in the toon.

 

No, the insecticons and reflector were simply shorter than that in the toon, fanstoys made em too big.

Insecticons should be about a head taller than bee, reflector should be a head shorter than the cars (and by extension the stunticons)

i cancelled my pre-order from TFsource and got it from these guys. Im sure DX9 are good but i went with these guys.

 

I'm sure if one goes further back in this thread, I (and many others) expressed the usual doubts about the quality of this product because of past history with KFC, but I'm genuinely confused by your rendition of recent events. By posting that note, I wasn't saying or implying this figure is going to be garbage or anything of the sort. The context of my posting the note from TFSource was me saying that XTB has improved since the days that such notes were included. ChromeMagnus was curious what sort of note, so I provided the photo of it.
Despite that original context, someone decided to jump into the conversation to defend XTB and cast aspersions at the note, even though nobody said the note was evidence that XTB is garbage today or hasn't improved or anything of the sort that would justify coming to their defense.
It was a completely unnecessary argument, hence the use of the "white knight" descriptor.
I'm quite excited for this figure and it appears from the most recent set of publicity photos and early video reviews to be a solid product and it looks nicer than the DX9 offering. I hope it lives up to all of our expectations and the rest of the set does as well.

You guys know that the chest isn't supposed to match, right? On DX9's, where the main color is whiter, the chest is silver.


The cartoon had sort of a grayish chest



And the toy's was silver (or unpainted diecast, maybe).

It may not be 100% toon accurate, but I LOVE the coloring of Montana with the classic white and blue and the chrome chest. And his back is so much cleaner, his arms are rounded and not so boxy and even his head is better (and without those blue eyes that XTB has). To me it’s really no contest, sorry.

Funnily enough he's the only limb that's covered in branding. All the rest have one in robot mode and one in vehicle mode. Very odd lol

Yeah I tend to agree. Another reason why a painted up Maketoys Reflector is the best version imo as they're the shortest set.

 

He's on par with XTB Cosmos.
