Did you know that it's just one year from now that they announced MP39 Sunstreaker from figure king magazine? Well, it was reveal on the 22nd of May 2017 and yet tomorrow is the 21st. I'm not going to hold my breath for a MP44 reveal, but we could see color schemes of MP43 Megatron soon.

Does transformation difficulty matter if the modes are accurate to the source material?

Asking for complexity for complexity's sake is the stupidest thing ever.

If you're able to do the job in two steps, why make it five steps with double the parts count? That's asinine.

I wasn't asking for that - don't put words in my mouth.

I was merely stating the fact that Star Saber is cheap for his size because of his lack of transformation complexity.

I believe taurus' point is because star saber's design is simple, it requires simpler engineering, which brought its cost down. This whole discussion occured because of MP cost and what factors into it. Is it size and engineering? Quality and amount of material? Or is takara just being "scummy" by charging "overly absurd" prices.

Due to star saber's simplicity, or lack of complexity, in design, it led to a lack of need to engineer a complex design, resulting in star saber being cheaper.
Unlike dinobot, that needed a complex design to pull off his show design, leading to him requiring much more complex engineering, resulting in higher cost.

Star saber was not cheaper because of poor materials or bad paint but a simpler design.

At least I think that is what you "are confused" about

I think it's the way you stated it. The use of expletives make it sound like you're calling negative attention to it, as if it's a problem, rather than just matter-of-fact.

I will agree his transformation is easy. But I still like him.

I know exactly what happened. And I still like Star Saber as one of my top masterpieces. Cheers.

Then yes, I agree. To me ultra magnus beats him on my top MP list but he is a good figure nonetheless

He didn't have bad paint, he had little to begin with. Yuki mentioned in an interview they were trying to use molded colored plastics to keep cost down and prevent chipping. Up until that point most of the releases contained a lot of clear painted over plastic.

    – Also MP Star Saber is going to be released in March at last.
Y: I was particular about constructing it using the colors of molded parts. You will notice it when you see the actual item. This is not only because of the cost, but I also wanted it to be a toy that you can play with freely without worrying about chipping the paint. If this concept is received favorably, I think Masterpiece series will be able to have wider range of lineup.

Magnus is indeed, better. Great transformation and overall top notch materials and finish. Sometimes I wonder if I should get a second Magnus.

I actually love that about Star Saber. I think MPs should have stuck to the idea of less paint and more molded parts so that you can actually transform them without fear of damaging anything.

Yea I wasn’t one of them. Magnus, Star Saber, KFC Kinggorilla, not having paint was a plus in my book. They are fun to transform.

It wasn't so much the lack of paint that was the problem, it was the colour of the bare plastic. He was rather devoid of paint though. There is a balance to be had. Thankfully the precedent has been set with Beast Wars MPs for Megatron to receive an outstanding paint job.

I can guarantee you those same people complained about MP-36 chipping paint if you so much as breathed on it.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it.

    Haha!

I was listening to the Radio Free Cybertron Podcast and they were talking about MP-43 Megatron.

One of the guys was so salty about it [not being another G1 MP] that he basically stops talking for the rest of the episode.

I think there should be a good balance struck. Some of the paint jobs on the older cars really make them pop (see MP-18) and IMO, are necessary.
